DENVER -- Gun sales are surging in the wake of Sunday’s deadly mass shooting in Orlando, Fla. The tragedy is generating new debate over gun control reform and the right to bear arms.
Gun shops typically see a spike in customers after mass shootings. But this time, many are seeing shoppers they’ve never really seen before: More gays and lesbians.
George Horne, the owner of The Gun Room, Denver’s oldest firearms dealer, said Tuesday business is booming at his store.
"For this time of year I’d say its three to four times what we normally have," he said.
Background checks that once took minutes can now take hours. It's a sales surge similar to what happened after Sandy Hook and the Aurora theater shootings.

One thing that makes people grow up on the issue of guns is the realization that they need one.
Now THAT I don’t mind from the gay community. If only all their behaviors feel into these sorts of categories.

The lesbian that lived across the street from us always packed a pistol. Mainly because of an ex-husband I think, but she always carried.
How do they know either previous or current gun purchase volume among gays and lesbians? I’ve never filled out anything related to my sexuality on the background checks for any of the guns I’ve purchased.
After hearing the President speak, you’d think they’d have the sense to disarm themselves. Maybe he needs to lecture us again a few times, so it sinks in.

I don't know any gays, or any that would admit it, but there seem to be a decent amount of military and ex military that were in that club that night. I'm thinking at least one of them wished they were armed.

A friend came over and shot all my guns today trying to find one he’d like to own. We went online and it appears most of the ones I own have jumped about $100 in purchase price. Is this inflation or his this demand driven?
