Gretchen Carlson is renewing her push for an AR-15 ban, firing off a series of tweets further criticizing AR-15s and pointed to her daughter’s work with a Newtown charity. Breitbart News reported that Carlson said that AR-15s are not needed “to hunt or kill deer” and suggested they only serve to enable terrorists to carry out their attacks with greater efficiency. She quoted a December 2015 poll showing majority support for an “assault weapons” ban and said, “I’m with the majority today, taking a stand.”
When confronted by Second Amendment supporters on Twitter, Carlson doubled down on her pro-ban stance, sometimes conflating an AR-15 with the 30-round magazines that can be used in such a firearm.

I have a 12 gauge shotgun for hunting deer. (Southern zone/half of NY using rifles for deer hunting not allowed) I also use it for home defense.
I have a Russian SKS with fixed bayonet (so called assault weapon). I have this gun for target practice and if I ever need to take my country back.

You asked what makes it more effective than a rifle available 100 years ago, so that’s what I answered. Is it orders of magnitude more effective than commonly available rifles 100 years ago? It might very well be based almost entirely on magazine capacity and reliability. I believe that consititutional intent was for civilian arms to mirror the advances in military arms available for use by the typical infantryman. It makes no sense for it to mean otherwise based on it’s purpose. The SC court essentially said that in the US v Miller decision.
Somebody tell the bimbo that the Second Amendment is about preserving the ability of citizens to hunt and kill agents of a government turned tyrannical. It ain’t about Bambi. Somebody get her to a remedial history class.
So they want a ban on scary looking guns, even though there are semiautomatic shotguns, and every handgun is semiautomatic except single shot derringers.
