Top Republicans joined with President Obama and other Democrats Tuesday in sharply condemning Donald Trumps reaction to the nightclub massacre in Orlando, decrying his anti-Muslim rhetoric and his questioning of Obamas allegiances as divisive and out of step with Americas values.
Trump who just a week ago signaled an intent to snap his campaign into a more measured tone for the general election showed no sign of backing down from his suggestions that Obama was somehow connected to or sympathetic with terrorists, telling the Associated Press that the president continues to prioritize our enemy over Americans.
In separate appearances, both Obama and his potential successor, likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, blasted Trumps proposal to ban foreign Muslims from the United States as dangerous and contrary to the nations traditions.
A visibly angry Obama also dismissed Trumps repeated demands for him to use the term radical Islam when speaking about the Orlando shootings and other attacks. Calling a threat by a different name does not make it go away, Obama said. This is a political distraction.
Clinton described Trumps response to Orlando as rife with conspiracy theories and pathological self-congratulations.

Speaker Paul D. Ryan (Wis.) denounced Trump for trying to rally support for his anti-Muslim policies, while others castigated Trump for the accusations he has lobbed at Obama.
I do not think a Muslim ban is in our countrys interest, Ryan told reporters. I do not think it is reflective of our principles, not just as a party but as a country. He called for a security test, not a religious test for immigrants.
In a speech Monday, Trump had reiterated his calls for such a ban and expanded its potential reach to include any country with a history of terrorism against the United States and its allies.

We may as well start laying the groundwork now for our third party.
It’s clear to me the GOPe will never allow itself to be Trumped again. By next cycle they’ll impose some version of the draconian superdelegate process the Democrats use.
Ok...well calling WaPo liars and condemning Ryan for the 10,000th time this week isnt doing anything. It isnt like they will poof out of existence because we say words here.
So what the hell are we going to do about any of it?
The point?
It is always useful to read what our enemies are thinking.
But then you knew that all along, didn’t you?
Yeah, the WaPo has been full on Trump-bashing nonstop since he revoked their credentials. I think there are three or four Trump hit pieces on Real Clear Politics today alone from that rag...
Why do I hear echoes of these people decrying “Anti-Japanese” rhetoric shortly after Pearl Harbor?
They are doing this to get Hillary elected. They are helping BO to destroy all his opposition. Not all republicans are as bad as you have been led to believe. The old media still has tremendous power and they have successfully turned much of the public against their own. The Clinton and Obama crime families are the bigger enemies by far.
So you believe that WaPo knows what they are thinking? I don’t.
What are we going to do?
Why elect Donald Trump president of course, and then we’ll go after RINOs like Ryan, et al, or we’ll form a new party and call it either the Oath Keepers or the Conservative American Party and kick them all the hell out. A strong new party could eliminate lobbying, eliminate retirement pay for these hacks, legislate the ABC agencies out of existence. Select true Constitutional scholars for the Supreme Court, thereby restoring it to its rightful place.
so many things don’t you see?
See #23.
Terrorists will soon drive the latecomers to the party.
Trump should chose his phrasing more carefully and he’ll get more recruits.
Well, ok.
But sometimes it’s very frustrating when FR is little more than 1000 “X person condemns Trump for Y reason” or a litany of nothing but negative articles.
Outside of the Trump rally threads and a couple of blogs, it is nothing but that.
Most of the posts here are pro-Trump. If an article that’s contrary to that it’s posted as a glimpse into what the enemy camp is saying. It’s almost always posted with the poster’s comments pointing out the fallacy.
The spectrum of articles both pro and anti-Trump are as broad as Hillary’s well nourished ass.
Has anyone, here, heard of the name Carolyn Walker? She is the second muslim appointed by Obama to be the second fed.
jusdge. She was sworn into the position with her hand on the Quoran. Shaira law anyone?
Flush the turd Mooselimb Ryan, go Nehlen, primary the bass turd ...
Are you trying to say that Ryan and McConnell haven’t aligned with the Democrats?
They have, and the article is reasonably accurate.
Anyone supporting a policy of importing Muslims, also supports terrorism.
Why not Speaker Ryan? What great needs are muslim immigrants filling in our country? Conversely, how is more muzzie immigration in our interests? When we can't separate the killers from the innocents... Pusillanimous puke...

You are right. Freepers can respond to the shameful responses of those who refuse to support their constituents’ votes. Paul Ryan is compromised by his support for spoiler and friend, Mitt Romney.
