I rode the rebranded Chicago el cars in the late Eighties on the Upper Darby-Norristown Line when I visited family in the Philly area. Their maximum speed was 45, which was an annoyance because that line was built in 1919 for 75 mph service. But they were reliable and easy to maintain until the new French equipment was ready to deploy.
