That happened last in Kansas City in 1928 when Al Smith spoke in KKK territory. Smith was Catholic, and the KKK in the 1920s was primarily an anti-Catholic organization in addition to being anti-black.

Plus I saw their hate up close and personal at the Chicago Rally. I blame the media, other candidates (Cruz), and the governmental entities charged with protecting First Amendment rights for allowing this violence to continue. Wish they had nipped it in bud in Chicago :(
