They already know the answer. But, they declare that all wealth should be theirs and they don’t want to live in an America where employers have to compete for talent.
huh? it is meaningful. it shows - at the very least - that incomes and standards of living have not increased in 40 years. this is not progress, this is stagnation.

Some portion is related to the collapse of private sector union jobs - and that’s a good thing.

The average man is not the median man.

My standard of living has greatly dropped.
Without intermediate data points, this statement cannot be proven true. I believe if you look at the data, the mid to late 1980's, the mid to late 1990's and the mid 2000's would all show better earnings than 1973. However, under Obama, all of those gains have been given back to the point we are now below 1973.

This is true, but what is left out is the after-tax income take-home pay. Taxes are far higher now than in 1973.

In 1973 I had a defined-benefit pension and good medical. When I retired I had Obamacare and a lousy 401K. Some benefits.
You can bet total compensation is far lower. In 1973 people got benefits - including defined benefit retirement. Now. Ha.
Why would you think that economic stagnation (at best) is meaningless?
Can’t tell from the chart if this is adjusted for inflation. If it isn’t adjusted then it means earnings have dropped significantly. If it is adjusted then it means that earnings have stagnated.
