With all the variables in determining medians and inflation adjusted dollars, this difference is not meaningful. huh? it is meaningful. it shows - at the very least - that incomes and standards of living have not increased in 40 years. this is not progress, this is stagnation.

huh? it is meaningful. it shows - at the very least - that incomes and standards of living have not increased in 40 years. Without intermediate data points, this statement cannot be proven true. I believe if you look at the data, the mid to late 1980's, the mid to late 1990's and the mid 2000's would all show better earnings than 1973. However, under Obama, all of those gains have been given back to the point we are now below 1973.
