President Obama today described as as "an act of terror" the mass shooting in Orlando overnight, which left at least 50 people dead.
“We stand with the people of Orlando who have endured a terrible attack on their city,” Obama said at the White House. “This could have been any one of our cities.”

Well just so you know I’m one of those Traditionalists who roundly rejects Francis. I was making a point, although I should have kept it to myself, the obvious bias and disdain for Catholics on the religious forum. This thread was not the time or place for it. Well, the theological disagreements often get hot and verge into the personal. And that takes the focus off of Jesus and onto the human end of methods of worship, and that becomes a losing game because now it sounds like it is primarily about what we do — rather than primarily about what God does to us.
It is exactly because I believe the bible in a Protestant manner, that I adamantly refuse to say there cannot be Christians in churches that don’t. Jesus is the king of the show and works in the ways he chooses, never erring as he does, even though we err. As the bible says, let every man be a liar, but let God be true.
I believe C. S. Lewis did a pretty good job of explicating this.
And I try not to be generically offended at the Roman Catholic church. If I see things that I disagree with, I realize that there are things that I at least used to do (if I still don’t fall into them from time to time) that I know jolly well that God disagrees with. And yet God never walked away on me and waited until I had it right again, gently leading all the while. If I allow that God is any less gracious to any other part of Christendom, then I lie about God.
You are absolutely right! They are our gay citizens. They were simply partying on a Saturday night like a lot of our citizens do. Minding their own business. And an evil, ignorant, savage, son-of-a-w#0re shot and crippled them! That is the lowest!
When the English word “terror” translates into most other languages, it will mean something very different than if he used the word “terrorism” in his speech.
To say “we were afraid and in terror” does not mean the same as “I assign to you the title of terrorist”
This also smothered his orchestrated endorsement of Hillary a few days ago.
Mothers will soon consider this Muslim onslaught a threat to their children.
