President Obama will visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico and Yosemite National Park in California next week as part of a trip celebrating the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, according to the White House.
The trip is scheduled from June 17-19 – next Friday, Saturday and Sunday – but it’s unclear exactly when the president will be in New Mexico. Details are still emerging.

My understanding is that the freight elevators are now operational, but the faster passenger elevators are still out of service. The Park Service may have changed the concessionaire, as well.

Passenger and freight elevators have been out of service at various times since 2011 with all of them going down last fall. Typical government run operation - takes five years to get necessary equipment operation at a major tourist attraction.
I recommend he partake in one of the geyser showers. Very warm and invigorating
