Hillary Clintons base of support appears to have hit its high watermark eight years ago.
Hillary Clinton Eau Claire yawnThe election results from the California and New Jersey primaries are just the latest examples of the contraction of enthusiasm her campaign seems to be experiencing.
With 94.4% of precincts reporting, Clinton won 1,841,285 votes in California on Tuesday, compared to Bernie Sanderss 1,416,742, Politico reports.
Thats nearly a 30% drop in total support from 2008, when she received 2,608,184 votes, or 51.47%. (Barack Obama got 2,186,662 votes or 43.16%.)

Someone was just talking about that on a radio station we were listening to about 40 minutes ago. That is big a drop.
The entire Democrat vote is off by a third.
And you’re comparing two competitive races.
Another example of her shelf life being past due.
Never underestimate the power of FREE SH*T, my FRiend.
I predict that by September she will have fully embraced Bernie’s “free college” scam. And will be promising to raise taxes on Wall Street and plow the money into higher monthly Social Security checks.
She still got 700,000 more than Trump. I think California is still attainable.
I was calculating that if 30% of Bernie supporters have said they will never vote for Hillary that comes to about 15 % of democrat votes in the general election. If that is true, there is no way Hillary can win.
I also just saw that 37% of Latinos will vote for Trump.
If that is also true then there absolutely no way Hillary can win.
The notable thing about the media is that they are always there to tell us what is not possible. Everything is impossible.
Come to think of it a lot of people on FR are the same. They are all experts in predicting what is not possible and what won’t happen.
Trump is the only one who sees a bright future of possibilities.
I think they know that too. They were really booing Clinton last night at that strange Sanders speech in Santa Monica. We were applauding...
Then they go out and do it anyways. They might fail at first but then they pick themselves up and go at it a different way until they succeed. They do not get discouraged. That's why they are ultimately successful at everything they set their mind on doing.
Trump is definitely one of those special people.
I kinda think you’re right.
I need to get back in that frame of thinking myself. Thirty four years ago I started a business with people who were supposed to know all about it telling me that my plan would never work. I was amazed how WELL it worked. I was told at one point that my former coworkers had taken bets as to whether I would make it one month or three. Actually the business did great for fifteen years and well for another five before changes in technology caused most of the customers to close down and there were not enough POTENTIAL customers to make it any longer.
Well, that isn’t the way to look at it. She and Bernie = 3.2 m in CA. How many did all Rs get?
Take 20% of Bernie’s off the total Dem # (stay home) and give half of that (10%) to Trump.
Now, whatever the remainder is, divide by half. That’s the # Trump has to flip. If he can’t flip them, he has to make up the whole amount.
My three liberal granddaughters live in California and they can’t stand her.
School teachers on my FB page can’t post enough of her press releases. One retired teacher posted at least five in minutes this morning. Mind numbing.
