Tropical Depression 3 has formed in the extreme southern Gulf of Mexico. A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for the Florida Gulf Coast from Indian Pass to Englewood. The primary hazards with this system are expected to be flooding from heavy rains and some coastal flooding from storm surge. This system is expected to develop into Tropical Storm Colin.
You can't make this stuff up.
If the storm comes over us I'll just take the house down to the thermocline and ride it out. Periscope depth is too bumpy.

I’m on the gulf side. The water won’t back up here. Good news is this thing is going to hit around low tide.
The only good thing is I've noticed a recent dearth of mosquitoes and roaches: I'm assuming they've all drowned.
The highest point in Florida is in Walton County, near me.
The height is only 345 ft. but it is surprisingly hilly.
We called it the Florida Alps.

So, Nauti, do you think any land-based stations will actually record tropical storm strength winds for this one? No Gulf Stream issues to blame this time.

Great map, thanks.
Monsoon here at the moment. .a band passing through.
I am so thankful that Texas is not getting this storm. We are drowning here. I hope Florida needs the rain.
Good to see you! Rain is good. Water piling up on backside of storm—not so good.
Looking at actually recorded windspeeds at land-based stations is a conspiracy theory? I don't think I follow this line of thinking.

Bummer, all we get here is electricity and stuff.
