TS Colin is directly over us now. Plenty of rain but no wind, not even a breeze.

We are expecting torrential rain. Anticipate there may be serious flooding in Tampa if the storm passes north of the city as expected. Water from the bay and rivers will pile up on the storm’s backside with nowhere else to go.

here in Pinellas County they are starting to scare the hell out of everyone. I suspect there will be an over abundance of rain, and plenty of street flooding. Listening to the media I am surprised they are not handing out life vests.

Sorry for pulling your thread. Thought it was a duplicate, but some FReepers set me straight.

Yeah it’s been so dry the earth is like concrete. There’s no storm here in pasco county yet, however the tide is really high. I guess it’s from the new moon? It will certainly breach the sea wall . Anyone know what the surge is predicted to be?

Brevard County, Florida
weather ping.
Don't like that BAM series as of now.
Let me know if you want on or off this low volume ping list.

We could use a little rain over here in Palm Beach County... not too much though please.

Thanks for letting me know—I had taken a quick break to continue storm prep anyhow!

Wow, sounds kind of frightening. I keep thinking about those awful images of the flooding in Texas. Of course we're all very sad about the 9 Fort Hood soldiers that were tragically lost.
Hope this Tropical Depression / Tropical Storm fizzles before any damage is done.

Well, well, well...this should be a fun couple of days. We just lost electricity. Already. Eeeesh. Thank goodness for backup power.
