Lost in all the back and forth of the Republican presidential primary is a profound question for the conservative movement: Whither Ted Cruz? Let us not overlook a conservative powerhouse, with a proven track record of organizing actual voters across a wide swath of states, expertise at small-dollar fundraising, and the discipline to endure months of heckling by Donald Troll and his oafish minions.
Is no one else excited to see the next chapter for Cruz? If he so chooses, Cruz can be the conservative leader he was so often attacked for not being over the last few years. Now that he is no longer required to hedge his every position, craft every utterance for maximum flexibility, and throw inconvenient political groups under the bus, Cruz can focus on actually legislating and moving the American political center rightward.
As I argued last year (in an unheeded essay urging he stay put in the Senate):
Ted Cruz has become a liability for all associated with him and is unlikely to be reelected to the Senate seat from Texas.
"Ted Cruz deceived all Texans when he failed to disclose he was a Canadian citizen in 2012".
Any Republican and most "moderate" Democrats...a real Texan...could win on that slogan alone.
This author interjects THAT and wants us all to hold hands and embrace Cruz as our wise conservative leader? GIVE ME A BREAK !!
I fully support Ted Cruz for the Senate.
He is eligible, able, and willing.
We cannot afford to give up even one Senate seat.
The primary fight is over. Lets not cannibalize the bench. We need all conservatives in the fight.
Ashley “ObamaTRADE” Cruz is truly
the Globalists’ cutting edge in the GOP.
That's my hope. If the majority on FR doesn't like Cruz so much they don't even want him in the Senate, then I'm no longer interested in participating nor supporting FR.
Agreed.
“I fully support Ted Cruz for the Senate.
He is eligible, able, and willing.
We cannot afford to give up even one Senate seat.”
I agree. I just hope Ted will put the country first above all else.
Really; Ted is not a Canadian Citizen. Why do people insist on getting that wrong.
His mother was born in Connecticut. She was working in Canada when Cruz was born. Her AMERICAN-BORN CITIZENSHIP automatically made him an AMERICAN CITIZEN. While he was born in a Canadian hospital (because his mother lived there), his Canadian citizenship is just an afterthought. And, Cruz has ready dismissed his Canadian citizenship .. which leaves him as ONLY - AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.
Some of you Trumpsters need to get over it. All you’re doing is making yourself look like a NON-CITIZEN BECAUSE YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW YOUR COUNTRY’S LAWS.
Lyin’ Ted & Heidi - Goldman-Sachs “NO BORDERS - North American Union”
Supported TPP
Supported Corker’s “Nukes for Iran”
Still has not produced a document that certifies he is a US citizen - a Canadian Birth Certificate does not prove being a US Citizen.
Shirley Texas can find a real Conservative American citizen - not a Canadian Establishment GOP-E puppet.
Still trolling I see.
If Texas wants him as their Senator, he’s way better than Cornyn and Hutchison before him.
He is not eligible to be President and I would not support him in another run for that office.
Delaware
You are the one calling people “Trumpsters”.
Why don’t you keep your name calling to yourself.
Cruz repeated lies and general lack of integrity in stealing delegates after the people had spoken will hurt him in the future very badly. The key is Governor Abbott running against him. Who ever Abbott runs against — he will win. Abbot has a proven conservative record as Governor.
Ask a Texan if he gives a damn whether Ted Cruz is a Canadian. He represents Texas values far far better than the unreliable Sen. Cornball. I’d be thrilled to have him back in the Senate and any conservative worth their mettle should too.
Toss him out, Texas....he deceived you.
He’s no better than a thieving horse trader.
We cannot afford to give up even one Senate seat.

Texas won’t go democrat in the US Senate race regardless of
who wins the GOP primary in 2018.
“We love Ted, we love him, right? We love him.” Donald Trump.
In other news, we have always been at war with Eastasia.
