Great post and good review. Boxing fans praise Ali, golfer praise Woods and baseball fans praise Bonds: winners in sports and losers at life. Parkinson’s is a tough punishment for playing a sport. Ali seemed to handle the last years with grace.

For the spectators, I’m sure it’s clear that I never argued that Ali wasn’t a Muslim. Just that I hoped he made a soul-saving eternal choice when he had the chance.
