Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is responding to the PGA moving the 2017 World Golf Championship to Mexico instead of holding it at Trump Doral in Miami.
They move the World Golf Championships from Miami to Mexico City, Trump commented. They moved the PGA Tour, moved the World Golf Championships from Miami, where theyre furious to Mexico City.
If I become your president, this stuff is all going to stop, Trump added. He went on to criticize the U.S. economy for being taken advantage of by Mexico.

“If I become your president, this stuff is all going to stop,”
Oh yeah? What a stupid thing to say!
Yep, he’s done now.
No way, I’d go down there to play.

“Exactly what would he do to stop a private group from doing this? This is the problem many of us have with Trump. “
Probably use the bully pulpit like Teddy Roosevelt. Public pressure can do a lot.
A President can also make crossing the border inconvenient. I got turned back from Mexico during Nixon because, to quote the Mexican border guard, “your hairs are too long”. It was just some ruse to cause problems at the border,
I never did find out exactly what the real issue was at the time but it wasn’t hair. Instituting time consuming rules to gum up border crossings would be very easy and doesn’t require any new power on a President’s part. If it takes the better part of a day for golf pros and fans to go in or out of Mexico, Trump will get their attention.
Sounds like a line from a Warren Zevon song.
[Oh yeah? What a stupid thing to say!]
If your idol Cruz said the same thing, you would be gushing with joy over such a bold statement....
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
See post #27.
They’re really out today, aren’t they?
You can go crawl back under your rock now.
Kidnapping south of the border really happens. Not an urban myth.
I used to play on online strategy game and one of our members was an amusing Mexican fellow who lived in Texas. He got a big job promotion that required him to travel a lot in Mexico. He had to drop out of the game not due to lack of time, but because if he was seen in airports with a laptop it draws the attention of kidnappers and he was genuinely worried about being kidnapped.
“Oh yeah? What a stupid thing to say!”
If we responded to a kidnapping by reducing a cartel to worm food, our citizens would be much safer.
There was a time when the communists in the Philippines, the NPA, would not molest Americans. A friend and I were caught in an NPA roadblock they had set up looking for people to murder, but because we were Americans, they let us go.
That was under Reagan.
Now, under the half-Negro from Nairobi, they have lost their fear of us. I wouldn’t go to the Philippines today unless somebody’s life was on the line.
Not stupid. Can be done, without too much difficulty.
Trump is a man on fire!
Nobody knows how many kidnappings there are in Mexico. I know people who know people who have been kidnapped in Mexico. Most of the kidnappings in Mexico are not reported because the police are involved in the kidnappings.
Why would PGA golfers even want to play in Mexico City?
Mexico City or Miami?????
I'll do as I usually do- I'll ignore it.
Mexico City or Miami?????
Or go to Miami and watch it on TV from Mexico City.
“Most of the kidnappings in Mexico are not reported because the police are involved in the kidnappings.”
That’s true. Mexico is incredibly corrupt. As a result hating cops is first nature to most Mexicans and that often plays out with cops getting shot by illegals here north of the border. It’s part of the wholesale lawlessness brought here by massive illegal immigration, the Bush and Obama gift to the American people.
