Good morning nikos, lysie, and hope you are having a good evening WVK.
Not only was Obama stuttering like the fool he actually is, what he managed to say was utterly incomprehensible.
The laugh of the crowd after “Okie Doke” was a head scratcher also.
I mean, who says “Okie Doke” anymore?
And the way Obama used it, what in the world did it mean—totally out of context and normal usage of the phrase.
We said it as kids over 50 years ago, and the Little Rascals said it in the 1930s, but what adult uses it?
Trump issued a pre-emptive strike against Hillary last night in Sacramento, but he also put Obama on notice, that if he wants to enter the fray, Trump will knock back against the President as well.
No other person in the GOP will do this.
Lincoln found his Grant, who would fight.
Now we have found ours.
Good morning.
Well, it’s good to bring back some of these old phrases now and then for the current generation.
Words like:
Okey Doke (Which means “yes” or “I hear you”
Caddywompous (Which means something cockeyed)
Cockeyed (Something is not straight)
Badda Beem Badda Boom (Drum roll)
High Falootin (Uppity)
Cockamaymee (Crazy or stupid or silly)
*raises hand*
I still say okie dokie, but I’m a redneck.
My thoughts on this stuttering clip is that Obummer is completely unable to ab-lib in any sense of the word. He was struggling to put his thoughts together. He will become mincemeat if he goes up against Trump!
Okie Doke is regional, I guess. It’s pretty common in parts of Texas. But I think there’s prolly a minimum age limit on its use. :-)
I would take an “Okie Dokie’ president over Obazma any day.
I also hate the way Obama says “folks” all the time. I think he thinks it makes him sound less arrogant than he is. Instead he just sounds ridiculous.
Had a lousy evening, actually. I had an appt. this afternoon with my cardio Doc after having an echocardiogram. Sometimes, you get hit by a ton of bricks, and this was my day.
I have bragged about how my two brothers (twins, 3 yrs older) have had multiple heart attacks, and that I never had even one. Yet, according to the results, I have had some event in the past and it is why many of my problems are expanding. I have no recollection of ever having anything like a heart attack, but then again, if you don't know what you are looking for, you may not see it. That is obviously the case here.
So, I find that I am having "congestive heart failure" and have been placed on a new med regimen. Some of the meds have interesting side effects, including that right now, I am having some weird visual things, with "hallucinatory"-like distortions in my vision. I was curious about it, and when looking up the drugs, found it as a common side effect.
So, I am here, asking for prayers and hoping for the best. I take life one day at a time, and this day has been hard on me, and really hard on Marlene. She is afraid that I will be dead soon, or forced to go back to the USA for treatment. There, I can use the VA for most of what I need, but life is not cheap there, so I am sure that I could not be able to keep things going here at the same time. I have her needs at the top of my list, and really ha leave here.. She is my anchor. She went to bed crying last night and it was hard for me to take.
I hate to air my laundry, but I know this is a place where we can go for our spiritual and common needs. It is a group which shares the same values, and believe in the Highest Power. Our finances aren't great, but here, I cn get excellent care at a reasonable cost. It will require us to cut back on some things, but sacrifice is always needed for the higher good.
Enough for now, but add me to your lists, if you will, as I keep you all on mine!
