Good morning, all!

Had a lousy evening, actually. I had an appt. this afternoon with my cardio Doc after having an echocardiogram. Sometimes, you get hit by a ton of bricks, and this was my day.

I have bragged about how my two brothers (twins, 3 yrs older) have had multiple heart attacks, and that I never had even one. Yet, according to the results, I have had some event in the past and it is why many of my problems are expanding. I have no recollection of ever having anything like a heart attack, but then again, if you don't know what you are looking for, you may not see it. That is obviously the case here.

So, I find that I am having "congestive heart failure" and have been placed on a new med regimen. Some of the meds have interesting side effects, including that right now, I am having some weird visual things, with "hallucinatory"-like distortions in my vision. I was curious about it, and when looking up the drugs, found it as a common side effect.

So, I am here, asking for prayers and hoping for the best. I take life one day at a time, and this day has been hard on me, and really hard on Marlene. She is afraid that I will be dead soon, or forced to go back to the USA for treatment. There, I can use the VA for most of what I need, but life is not cheap there, so I am sure that I could not be able to keep things going here at the same time. I have her needs at the top of my list, and really ha leave here.. She is my anchor. She went to bed crying last night and it was hard for me to take.

I hate to air my laundry, but I know this is a place where we can go for our spiritual and common needs. It is a group which shares the same values, and believe in the Highest Power. Our finances aren't great, but here, I cn get excellent care at a reasonable cost. It will require us to cut back on some things, but sacrifice is always needed for the higher good.

Enough for now, but add me to your lists, if you will, as I keep you all on mine!

Prayers up, I had a close call about 20 years ago with an MI, spent 2-weeks in the hospital and 4 hours in the cath lab. Straightened out my diet and exercise and am now about to turn 79 (5 days before Trump).

There are further tests to determine the extent of your problem. I take a number of drugs for my condition and have had to change out some of them because of side effects. Most of the time they go away in time. If you are in currently the VA system there should be no problem getting good care. They have an outpatient clinic in Pasay city.

Always picture yourself as a perfect being, it works. Best to you

Oh WV....how sorry I am for you and your beloved Marlene. Please don’t lose hope. I will pray for you. Every day.

There is a very nice man who has a cottage down the lane from me, and he was in critical condition several years back for congestive heart failure. Very bad shape. The good new is that he’s still with us, getting stronger and stronger....and he was in terrible condition. Very, very overweight, sat all day, smoked, drank......but he’s doing much better now! So you stay strong, don’t get down, and you’ll be dancing with Marlene for a long, long time! God be with you.

Good morning WVKayaker!

I don’t know you in the physical realm, but I love you in the spiritual one... totally awesome of you to come into the parlor and bare your soul. Righteous!

My kid brought home a cassette tape by DC Talk, whom I’d never heard of- he said it was Christian rap. I said WHAT! Then I said let me see that thing. I opened the cassette and read the liner’s lyrics... scriptural- word for word. Intrigued, I said put it on. I listened to it, and was hooked on modern Christian music. Why? The message, of course, paired with great music. Your mileage may vary, and to each their own.

Kids are going to listen to something, so they might as well get the healthy meal, versus the crap sandwich.

We attended a 7 day Woodstock like, music festival, put on by the Jesus People USA, out of Chicago. Great people, great ministries.

I submit this tune, for your listening pleasure, from a group of artists performing a tribute album to Petra, a bedrock group of modern Christian music.

Album- Never Say Dinosaur
Artist- Sixpence None The Richer
Song- Road to Zion

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvtvBBT-SpQ

There is a way that leads to life
The few that find it never die
Past mountain peaks graced white with snow
The way grows brighter as it goes

(Coro)
There is a road inside of you
Inside of me there is one too
No stumbling pilgrim in the dark
The road to Zion’s in your heart
The road to Zion’s in your heart

The river runs beside the road
Its waters living as they flow
In liquid voice the water calls
On thirsty knees the pilgrim falls

Sometimes a shadow dark and cold
Lays like a mist across the road
But be encouraged by the sight
Where there’s a shadow, there’s a light

Sometimes it’s good to look back down
We’ve come so far - we’ve gained such ground
But joy is not in where we’ve been
Joy is who’s waiting at the end

For Marlene, in her language?

“Camino A Sion”

May our Father in Heaven Who lovingly formed WVKayaker in his mother’s womb now interfere as the Divine Physician, heal him, restore him to health, comfort him in his affliction, and likewise bless his loved ones, Marlene and others. We ask this in Jesus’s Holy Name.

It need not be a death sentence, WVK.
It is different for every patient.
If the lungs and kidneys are functioning well,
that gives good hope.
It depends on past history (smoking, etc)
I take care of 80 year olds who have CHF.
Follow Drs orders!
We will pray harder!
