Why So Many Men Are Living With Their Parents
New York Post ^ | May 30, 2016 | Karol Markowicz

When we think of a child passing into adulthood, we usually picture independent living — perhaps with roommates, alone or eventually with a partner or spouse. Today that picture might need some adjustment.

A Pew Research poll released last week found that American men age 18 to 34 are more likely to be living with their parents than in any other living situation.

What’s going on? What’s happening to men? And, just as important: Why?

They scream for no borders. The immigrants they can’t get enough of vote 70% pro-abortion.

That's true. I laugh when Republicans talk about Mexicans being conservative. They vote for the party that promises them Other People's Money.

Maybe we need to look at the women in those age groups.

And the entire system in place now that gives men zero upside to being married.

Very good explanation and can be proven by just walking around.

Your right, it is a war on men, particularly white men, who apparently are the scum of the Earth as taught in most major colleges. Women are all tatted up and up their own asses. The economy is terrible. Corporate America is politically correct and geared increasingly towards women and their strengths of communication and collaboration and more towards placating minorities and making it harder for white males to get a job. Violent crime is up.

I can understand why men want to stay around family, whom they can trust. I can also understand why there’s little reason to strive, as there’s little reward in doing so.

The left always needs Goldsteins. Both white men, and whites total, are Goldsteins, for the globalists. Here, and in Europe.

Christians are also Goldsteins for the globalists.

I suspect that the boys,...get all the enjoyment and companionship they need in front of their computers, jacking off.....

Why did it have to be this? I was expecting "...in front of their computers playing Warcraft" or "...in front of their computers watching YouTube" or even "...in front of their computers chatting about Game of Thrones", but you had to go straight for the hardcore shaming, as only a person of high class might do. You just forgot the part about the Cheetos.

The interesting part is that, if the younger guys are, indeed, "in front of their computers, jerking off", mostly they're doing it to the uploaded nude selfie tumblr pictures that girls their age are posting while bragging about their baby daddy beating the assault rap. And given the character of most young women today, these young men are at least embarked upon a path that leads away from a lifetime partnership with Valtrex. In other words, maybe they don't have a burning in their loins to have a burning in their loins.

I can see several very valid reasons why a young man is still living at home.

* Paying off student loans.

* Most women nowadays are pushy trolls who think a man should toss his entire life away pleasing her.

* Focusing on career is a lot easier, and you can take more risks, if someone has your back and your basic needs are covered.

* Solid jobs, with a wage your can live on and eat something more sustaining than Ramen Noodles, are hard to find.

* Have you seen some of the scary creatures running around, alleging to be women? Forget marrying that, you wouldn't want to even touch it!

I wish life had played out differently for my husband and I, so that we had the resources to provide for our children's college. Alas, medical bills tapped us dry for many years, so my eldest son will struggle with loans and debt immediately upon graduation. I told him that when the time came, he could live at home for a few years and pay that debt off, thereby enabling him to move forward with live debt free.

He's always been too focused and too hard of a worker to slack off in "Mommy's basement." But giving him a breather to get out from under the debt...I have no problem with that at all.

The whole Republican thing about Mexicans’ “family values” is deliberate self-delusion. The Catholic bishops have repeated this preposterous claim as well. Archbishop Gomez wrote a whole self-deluded book about it, something about “renewing the soul of America.”

The Mexicans and Muslims coming over the border are bringing with them the rape culture that reigns from Pakistan to Peru.

“No. Because rent is $800/month”

$800 a month? I didn’t think apartments anywhere rented for so little.

The few guys I know in those arrangements are practically caring for their parents at this point (and the siblings that moved out on their own are glad the single ones can do so).

############

I lived at my mother’s home several years in my late twenties and at thirty, initially to finish up school. During that time my grandmother started to fail, the relatives out of state where she lived utterly ignored her so we brought her home. We took care of her until she got so bad that medical professionals were required on a steady basis and we had to give up. Shortly thereafter she died, and I moved out.

Mother never recovered from her mother’s death and went downhill, so I had to cycle in and out for several more years, until she needed medical attention and died.

Then my father moved into the house and nearly died, not taking care of himself or eating right. I came back for a few months and got him healthy and the house set right, then left again. It was a good time because my kid who was very small and my dad got to know each other and were very close. When I left, he immediately declined and died within a year.

I didn’t live there because it was fun or easy. I lived there because my elders needed me, and I prolonged their years and the quality of their lives while I was there. It hurt me professionally, and that professional progression lost will never be recovered baring a miracle.

People stay at home for many reasons, and have since the beginning. Usually, it is not helpful to those who stay, and often the experience is depressing or bitter.

Duty can be a bitch, and can be rewarding, and can be both. Regardless, it calls. Decent people answer, as best they can.

I’m with you. And I think that all young people when they graduate from high school or college should do a six-month military basic training hitch. This will put an end to adolescence in those who are having difficulty in accepting adulthood and responsibility.

When men make 48,000 a year average and rent is 18,000 a year at least. Taxes make 48,000 into 36,000 (federal), 33,000 (after state). Basically leaving you with 1200 dollars a month left over...oops 800 for student loans and 300 for medical insurance. So working all year you have money for taxes, rent, student loan and medical insurance and that’s it. Thank god I graduated high school in 1987 not like my son who graduated high school on Saturday morning. It’s a horrible time to be beginning adulthood.

Partly-—but the system is rigged and is targeting boys to emasculate them and embed dependency (public school indoctrination system).

Real parenting means taking them out of the brainwashing, neutering system so they can embed Virtue and master real life skills and practice Self-Reliance which means not being in dependency centers 8 hours away which destroys autonomy and individualism for “group think” (no thinking—just ‘feeling”)..

The System really makes it impossible to be independent and learn to be virtuous since the culture is as toxic, as the vulgar Weimar Republic was-—maybe even more toxic, so the worldview of the boys is extremely warped-—about life, about women, about Truth/God, and what true masculinity really is.

Stole my post and then some.

It took until VERY recently to find a semi-secure, non-outsourcable job with benefits that wasn’t a ‘commission pay’ scam and a second job part-time to supplement the pay from job #1. And by ‘very recently’ I mean 6 godd@mn years after graduating college with a useful IT degree. I nearly fell for the Amway scam, was in physical danger in at least two junk jobs due to lowlife co-’workers’ getting cops called on them AT WORK, and was fired and blacklisted for accidentally walking off with a .75 cent cheese stick from a vendor so I wasn’t late getting back from lunch.

As for my lifestyle, I have a priceless jewel of a woman I want to marry for life, want to raise Godly children, hate like hell having to be on SNAP for food and help from church for rent (hopefully no longer after this month) and have no criminal record whatsoever.

THE PROBLEM AIN’T WITH ME!

Excellent synopsis on Cultural Marxism. They are Malthusians, also-—so they wanted to keep men from marrying at the best time-—around 21 or 22—so that they wouldn’t produce children and a family. The System they set up—puts enterprising young males in such huge debt and out of the work market at their peak years (to collapse culture) and force women into the work (slave) market so they can be taxed and they leave their children to the State to program and “raise”.

Michaelangelo was creating his greatest works in his 20s. He was working at age 7, but now his parents would be in prison for child abuse and Michelangelo would have been put into a foster home-—one of the abusive ones where there are two daddies to really warp his worldview and create a sexist pervert who can’t relate to women in a flourishing natural way.

The war on the Natural Family is to destroy Christianity, because without Virtue, there can be no Freedom and Christianity created the most rational , just virtue system which created the Age of Reason and Modern Science.

Virtue is only embedded in children with a moral environment/culture. We now have the most TOXIC culture possible (screens programming bots)-maybe worse than the vile Weimar Republic which bred immoral, vile people.

Good analysis, but you have the wrong end of the stick. If men had the opportunity to get married at 20 and continue on with school and career they would most certainly do so. The primary problem is women don't want to get married until the late 20s.

So instead of starting a family at 20 men continue to be boys because there are no wives available for marriage. Women spend their 20s sluting around or working and get married at about 28-32 which is generally to old to produce very many children.

The fix to the system is simple: Marry the girls off at 16-18 and don't send them to college.
