Former President Jimmy Carter is resigning from his prominent role in the Elders, the international NGO announced Wednesday. The 91-year-old, who had played a large part of the group since its founding in 2007, announced in March that he no longer needed treatment for cancer, less than seven months after publicly revealing that doctors had found melanoma that had spread to his brain. From the Middle East to climate change, womens rights to superpower diplomacy, Jimmy has brought the gravitas of his Presidential office but also the passion of an activist who believes the world can, and must, be changed for the better," Elders Chair Kofi Annan, the former secretary general of the United Nations, said in a statement. "The Elders would not be the organisation it is today without his drive and vision, and he will stay an inspiration for all of us for many years ahead.

His Muslim Brotherhood friends thought it sounded too much like the Learned Elders of Zion?
The Elders of Anti-Zion.
Satan doesn’t want Carter screwing up Hell.... therefore, he continues in this life..... ALAS!
... where it promptly starved to death.
Having solved the world’s many problems, Jimmy can retire in peace.
Are we going to have to be polite when this idiot assumes room temperature and can no longer fog a mirror??
It will be difficult.
Well he can die now knowing he’s no longer the worst president ever.
I hate to be hard on Jimmuh. I voted for the fellow back in the day. I think he was cast in the wrong role. If he had been a preacher, an evangelist, a missionary, he could have done some good. Within the church, you are SUPPOSED to be liberal, in the sense of giving and sharing and caring. To try to do that in the realm of Caesar is inappropriate. Caesar is put there to keep order. Caesar is not a nanny service or a welcome wagon.
It is routine now that 91 year olds are treated for brain cancer and cured.
Riiiiight.
I am guessing that, unfortunately, if “he no longer needs cancer treatment” as the article states, it must mean that there isn’t any more that can be done. I was never a fan of President Carter but he was way better than what we have now.
He has had a diseased brain since the mid 70’s
It might be expected to be so slow that he’d likely just die of natural causes before it felled him. Were he in his sixties, a different story.
Jimmuh had somewhat of a charitable spirit, but not the cheer of a convinced Christian. Which is why Ronald Reagan mopped the floor with Jimmuh using his own optimism.
Like I said though, Jimmuh was operating outside his forte, outside his element. Trying to push that square peg into that round hole might give anyone the blues. Reagan came around with the round peg and wham.
Carter was not a good President but he was a good man until he became bitter in his later years. I sat with him both when he was Governor and later at the Carter library.
Someone said he should have been a preacher or religious person rather than a politican. I agree.
I remember a friend telling their spouse we are going to Sunday School at his church the next Saturday. The spouse wanted to know why and was told when the former President and the pastor visit your house to ask you personally to attend it is hard to say no.
This picture has always fortified my love for rabbits. They are wonderful creatures.
