HIROSHIMA, Japan (AP) -- Every gesture. Every word uttered or avoided. Every person Barack Obama speaks with, listens to and stands beside in Hiroshima. All of it will help determine the success of a trip with huge potential political and diplomatic pitfalls, both in America and Asia.
The leader of the United States is already one of the world's most watched people. But that daily scrutiny will be magnified exponentially when Obama makes the first presidential journey to the place where the first atomic bomb attack killed tens of thousands 71 years ago.

TO BOW OR NOT TO BOW
Obama knows from past experience that every gesture counts when he's on the world stage.
He took a hit early in his presidency when his deep bow before Japanese Emperor Akihito was criticized by U.S. conservatives who saw him as groveling.
I will be MORE surprised if 0bama DOESN'T apologize and grovel.
The mere fact that he is going to the memorial is extremely bad optics.
Obama is going to visit Hiroshima on our USA Memorial Day. He will apologize, we are sure.
But has he ever visited Pearl Harbor (as president), the Vietnam Memorial in DC, the graves in France? No, he hasn’t. Why? He hates America first.
Any “optics” with him as the subject is always bad optics with the sole exception of him leaving the dais on Jan 20 2017 hopefully with a foot strategically placed.
But we've seen Obama's approach to "combating" ISIS: bomb selectively and let a war drag on forever and forever with no victories or progress to speak of. One would almost think his heart isn't in it. Given that I'm sure he does think that actually ending the war decisively was a bad idea.
It needs to be!
It’s his second apologize and grovel tour.
why not visit Bataan. then make the walk to the camp.
I never knew up to 10,000!! Filipinos may have died on the march on top of the 150 Americans.
Japan allows muslims now?
yeah, You use everything you got.
that was a war to decide the fate of the WORLD.
Not the Falkland Islands. A nuke in that situation might have been extreme :)
He’s going there to punch us in the face again.
He loves doing it. He regards those bombs as a mistake.
So he goes there.
Oh, and to take a selfie.
He will curtsy to the Emperor.
“”The key thing is to restore dignity,” said Jeff Kingston, a history professor at Temple University Japan. “He realizes this is the unfinished business of reconciliation, that there is a long road from foe to friend.”
Another weird academic.(Probably also for financial reparations to blacks)
Every time a Japanese auto or electronic product was purchased shows that we are friends.
(1) April 30, 2016, Larry Wilmore called Obama a "nigga"which was not denied.
What an Assclown!
Weak bough gives strong bow.
But hey, the left says Japan was ready to make nice so we were the bad guys. Whatever.
Obama is going to Hiroshima on Monday (Memorial Day)?
Just when I think he can’t sink any lower!
Gosh, that must have been the only date available on his busy Asian schedule.
Yet another slam in the face of America's veterans, especially those remaining of the Greatest Generation.
