Target's weak store sales and its expectations for this quarter, released Wednesday, pushed shares down 9 percent in morning trading. Shares of almost every retailer followed suit in what is shaping up to be a miserable year ... Shares of J.C. Penney, Kohl's, Macy's and Nordstrom fell as well. Shares of Wal-Mart, which reports earnings on Thursday, fell almost 4 percent

I don’t get a kick out of seeing businesses do bad, but they sure asked for it.
Who gets hurt though. Their employees get screwed over big-time.
The CEO and other mucky-mucks just move off to another company and start destroying it.
Wal-Mart for trophy wives.
This is all anectdotal, doesn’t prove the claim that is made. Target has stated the reasons for a bad quarter, and the investment community believes it. You will have to wait several more quarters before anyone starts to disbelieve management. That’s just how these things work.
Serves them right, brother D...
Maybe Target should hire only transvestites.
Target has blasphemed our culture and religion. They are going to be sued for facilitating the rape of a child IMO for 1 billion dollars and that is what will be awarded and collected . They are run by faggots and will drive this company in the dirt. That is not a hope. That is a fact IMO.
If Target goes under, which I honestly don’t mind for the sake of the company, it’s the employees that get hurt. I don’t like that. Should Target be boycotted? I think so. It still sucks the rank and file pay for the top level managements screw-ups.
I say even if they relent keep it going. Put them down. This how it’s done Chick fil A- haters.
Tell that to the employees that are getting cut...fortunately other retail in area is hiring. Yes it will take a few quarters for shareholders to realize it
Good. I hope KMart buys them out and then closes them down.
I agree that it sucks for the working guy.
Q2 will tell the story. I agree Q1 was not directly related to this issue since it became an issue in April. I suspect they keep cutting Q2 projections and try to play it off as a tough year for retail. Then, they’ll wait a bit and ‘update’ their bathroom policy before the holiday season.
I know a dozen people not going there in my small social circle. That’s thousands of dollars a year.
Maybe they’ll fire the CEO b

I doubt K-Mart ( Sears )can even buy one Target Store....
They aren’t doing so hot themselves...
It’s crashing, with transportation business slowing way down and those stocks in retreat all retail stocks will pull back ss sales are tanking. Trasportation down means facrories and retailers as well as producers of taw goods are not getting orders.
By the time we get to the election we may look like Venezuela
I drove by the lakeland fl store. Parking lot 33 percent full. usually you cant find a spot
“Their employees “
Target carries one item that I can only get there.
Each time I check out, I give up on determining what sex the cashier is, not to mention all the body piercings, tattoos and dyed hair ...
I think Target’s failure is also serving as a public signal that Americans as a whole have common morals and our overlords are the fringe, not us.
I happened to go in one (first visit in forever) about a month before the tranny idiocy started up in earnest...even then it was remarkably empty. Haven’t gone back since but I imagine it’s only gotten worse.
The inventory carrying costs must be staggering. Walmart have their own problems with empty shelves but that’s partially down to sales continuing apace.
Target’s approach, on the other hand, has always been full shelves, blinding bright lights and wide aisles (psychological appeal factors for the female shoppers). So reducing stock reduces the draw even more.
Say it loudly and often: boycotts threatened willy-nilly by 20somethings with six figures of college debt still living under mom’s roof with no jobs, no prospects, no cars, and no buying decision making power are meaningless despite CEOs rushing to appease them. Boycotts by families with incomes, homes, and vehicles DO matter even if Target’s CEO responds with more boilerplate and blather about diversity and inclusion (two contradictoey terms by the way).
It’s also worth noting that lefties threatening boycotts get headlines but the media can always find an ‘expert’ to say that boycotts by conservatives won’t work.
If the stock and sales keep dropping he can take his PC golden handshake and naff off.
