Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald on Monday compared the length of time veterans wait to receive health care at the VA to the length of time people wait for rides at Disneyland, and said his agency shouldn't use wait times as a measure of success because Disney doesn't either.
"When you got to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line? Or what's important? What's important is, what's your satisfaction with the experience?" McDonald said Monday during a Christian Science Monitor breakfast with reporters. "And what I would like to move to, eventually, is that kind of measure."
McDonald's comments angered House Speaker Paul Ryan, who tweeted out Monday afternoon, "This is not make-believe, Mr. Secretary. Veterans have died waiting in those lines."

No they just wish they were dead once on it.
“Anyone know the origins of Robert McDonald?”
Obviously wasn’t hired by a Republican, but was unanimously confirmed by the Senate for their god in 2014.

Anyone know the origins of Robert McDonald?....Yes. His brother Ronald is highly respected. And smarter, also.
I don’t expect to die in line at Disneyland either FWIW.
How utterly classless for anyone to try to create a moral equivalency between the suffering/illness of a combat veteran with standing in line for a carnival ride. Perhaps this clown need a tour of duty to change his perspective? I’ve advocated that as a solution for the VA for a long time; staff it with Veterans. Put a Veteran in charge. What they are desperately lacking as evidenced by this jerks analogy is compassion.
What? Why wasn’t that pendejo, that hijo de ching*** fired with cause on the spot? That is what would happen to me-or you- if we insulted even one customer that way...
Maybe this was posted earlier but I would not have read it if Texas gator had not posted.
How would anyone know to scroll for a story they did not know existed so even if it was posted before I would not know about it

Thanks for posting this

It spreads.
He’s getting frustrated because of all the bureaucratic protection in the VA.
You have to hire someone who is terminally ill to run the VA.
That person calls in every VA bureaucrat to his office. He plays psychological games with the VA bureaucrats. Eventually, the VA bureaucrats leave the office weeping and trembling.
Then, mess with their pay.
Turnabout is fair play.
If I call my doctor with a problem I’m in within two days... and if it’s serious I’m in that day.
That’s how it works in private practice...
That’s how it should work in the VA.
I really don’t know why I gave up six years of my life for these people.
So they can lord over us?
F’em.

Someone pointed out on the other thread about this idiot’s statement that Disneyworld DOES monitor, very closely, wait times.
Yeah - but at least Disney puts you to the front of the line if you are in a wheelchair.
My wife broke her toe the day before going, and could barely walk. I got her a wheelchair and waited at the end of the line. Some gal came over and said - “Oh - you can go this way for disabled people.”
“Oh - that’s okay - I just stubbed my toe - but I think I broke it.”
“No - if you are in a wheel chair you go to the other line!”
In hindsight I guess we were being too honest and naive. What a relief to go to the front of every line with our three little ones!
The nation owes no particular debt of honor to Disney visitors.
Disney visitors are free to go to other theme parks if the line gets too long.
Disney visitors are not liable to die if the line for Space Mountain stretches around the block.
Nobody waits on any line in a Disney park for more than a few hours. Most VA patients would be delighted to see a specialist after waiting only a few hours, but it is more likely that they will wait a few months.
Satisfaction with experience began its inexorable decline with the insults of this jerk, and continues to drop with each hour a vet has to wait for “care”.
If he wanted to make free ads for Trump, he only needed to say so.
How about normal three weeks wait....and then don’t be surprised if THEY cancell and TELL YOU to make another appointment
I wonder if this comment will help McDonald’s campaign for Hillary’s VP ?

How could a clueless asshat like this ever get to the top of P&G ?
