THERE ARE NEEDS, AND THEN THERE ARE NEEDS
"The bird does not sing because he has an answer; he sings because he has a song." Old Chinese Proverb Peppermint Patty, of Peanuts cartoon fame, can be impatient at times. You Peanuts fans may recall one of those times. School was about to begin, and Peppermint Patty went shopping. She entered the store, and proceeded directly to the counter, and said, "Sir, I need some school supplies...some pencils, some paper, a loose-leaf binder, and some answers. I need a lot of answers." Most of you have probably encountered someone who continually experiences difficulty in distinguishing NEEDS from WANTS. Conventional wisdom: we need food, air, water and shelter to survive; however, we do not need exotic foods, Caribbean trade wind breezes, mountain spring water and a castle nestled in the hillsides of Scotland in order to survive. The massive explosion of commercialism causes great difficulties for many adults....those who talk about wants as though they are needs. Hmmmmmm, no wonder so many young people are confused. It is okay to simply be. Consider the bird who sings simply because she has a song. CAPT Lorenzo C. York, CHC, USN

I worked, was on radio for a short time, then went to see my mother in law.
She has cancer really bad and is in her last days.
Very sad at my house.

...... "the helicopters were back" and the men in the back yard were climbing the trees. LOL! Never a dull moment around your house, is there? But hey, it keeps her occupied watching everything going on out there. :-)

Howdy, Kathy.
WOOHOO! You got some rain at last! ‘Bout time!
No rain here today. It was mostly cloudy but no rain anywhere around here. At least it was a little warmer.
Supposed to get some rain Wed. and Thurs. but we’ll believe it when we see it.

Yes, we do. We have fields full of inch-tall soybeans that would dearly love a good, long drink. A tenth of an inch here and there isn’t enough.
I think I figured out why we’re so dry this year. I bought flowers for the pots on the deck. I haven’t bothered with them the past two years and we had plenty of rain. I got them this year and BAM. It rains all over the state but in our corner. LOL!
No more flowers for the deck!

LOL! No more deck flowers for you!!
While ouile out doing my errands this morning I got Mom a 6-pack of assorted Petunias. So tomorrow I'll bring in some pots and she can plant them.
She just called me (I'm not sure she was very awake) because my Dad was in his robe in the doorway and wanted someone to talk to. This is an every few month occurrence.

Yep, no more deck flowers. Our crops would appreciate it. LOL!
Cool! Petunias are finally out up there. That’s what she’s been waiting for.
I didn’t know she was still seeing your dad at times. That can’t help with her confusion.

((LOL))Well, Bo did a lot of running and it was difficult to catch up at times. We did find a turtle in the water but it was a dead one and Bo wanted no part of it.
