The National Rifle Association threw its weight Friday behind Donald Trump, as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee personally assured the groups members he would protect Second Amendment rights if elected and claimed that likely Democratic rival Hillary Clinton would threaten them. The billionaire businessman and leaders of the nations powerful gun lobby joined forces as they amplified warnings that the Supreme Court vacancy only raises the stakes for gun owners in this election. Trump, speaking to the NRA-ILA (Institute for Legislative Action) forum in Louisville, Ky., even challenged Clinton on Friday to release a list of her potential Supreme Court nominees, after he did so earlier this week. I would like for Hillary Clinton to put a list together also, and I want to see what the list consists of, he said. It will be day and night, it wont be good for the people in this room and the country. He charged, Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment. He addressed the NRA-ILA forum moments after Executive Director Chris Cox announced the groups Trump endorsement.

We’ll soon see footage of Hillary on a duck hunting trip.
and claimed that likely Democratic rival Hillary Clinton would threaten them.

Claimed?
Hillary has threatened them already.
Every infringement she wants to enact is a threat.
She has said she wants an “Australian style” gun confiscation.
I remember that picture of Bill. I live in Arkansas and he never hunted a day in his life, just like John Kerry did in 2004. A bunch of phonies. I will not be surprised if Hillary tried something this dumb.
Trump at least has a CC and owns guns.
‘Hillary now says Donald is wrong about her and the Second Amendment. But, the lying liar herself said SCOTUS got it WRONG with the Second Amendment.
“She has said she wants an Australian style gun confiscation.”
What she will get is a civil war. If she does not know that, she is even more stupid than I thought. Then again, maybe she WANTS a civil war.
sitting back & watching all of this unfold & to think The Donald is right on the mark- he’s the guy for me.... he gives hope in turning this country around-
And watch the Democrats, all of a sudden, find the constitution and tell him he can’t do what he’s doing because of it.
Nevermind they’ve overlooked jugears disregard of said document.
Hitlery will bs her way out of this one.
Donald has our backs (yes, I am a member of the NRA) of the American people more than Hitlery could imagine- Hitlery will come across as lame because of her latest statement “I AM THE NOMINEE, I AM THE FUTURE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES-(my paraphrase). Hitlery’s ignorance knows no bounds.
& finally if I wanted a woman prez I certainly wouldn’t vote for her noways
Exactly. That’s what I mean with the Trump factor. He fights on his turf and forces the opposition to stand up for their beliefs, which Hillary won’t now. She’s already backtracking on her Australian-style gun grab. If it had been Jeb speaking at the NRA, the media would have denounced him and he would have apologized.
The presstitutes at CNN just uploaded a video to YouTube entitled: “Donald Trump in 1999: I don’t agree entirely with NRA.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wind7Su2fMs
The thing is, almost the whole clip is of a much younger Donald Trump arguing with Larry King about why people should be allowed to have guns—yet that’s the title that the CNN propagandists chose for the clip. They just want to harm him with the NRA supporters.
Sure, Trump’s moved more to the right on this topic in the intervening 17 years (who hasn’t modified some opinions over that much time?), but he seemed pretty passionate about making sure people could keep their guns even in 1999. His conclusion (pretty conservative for a New Yorker from the land of draconian gun laws), “You have to be able to have guns,” is the quote they should have used in my opinion.
Donald Jr is a competitive shooter and a reloader.
He has probably influenced his dad on the topic.
Yes, I remember Trump explicitly saying that his sons Don, Jr. and Eric have influenced him on the gun issue and helped move him in a more conservative direction on it over the years.
Regardless of the reasons, his current positions are what matter, not what he thought almost two decades ago (he has a policy paper on the Second Amendment on his website). I just find it illegitimate how so many in the press have been reminding people repeatedly about his old, no longer active support for an assault weapons ban, while avoiding any mention of how strongly he was in favor of law abiding citizens having guns for protection then, contrary to many restrictive laws like those of New York City and many other large cities and some states (I’m looking at you NJ).
I was shocked to find out that George HW Bush was anti NRA in the mid 90’s.
They’re videoing Hillary right now in Cabelas hunting togs:
“A-huntin’ we will go, a-huntin’ we will go, Ah ain’t in no ways tahrd of huntin’, whereza body got to go ‘round here to gits a huntin’ license?”
“Why lookit there, that’s ol’ Vince Foster! BLAM! BLAM! BLAM! What Ah gots to do to make you stay dead, huh?”
Hee hee.
I agree. Junior brought sanity to the argument with his father. The kid is well reasoned and can present a logical position.
