Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) was enraged after his Republican colleagues defeated his amendment to uphold President Obamas executive order that prohibits workplace discrimination against the LGBT community. Because seven Republicans decided to change their minds, his measure, which was tagged on to a spending bill, was defeated by a vote of 213-212.
Democrats let the GOP know how upset they were, chanting Shame! Shame! on the House floor after the vote.
Politico said the scene was one of chaos.
Maloney, who is the first openly gay New York congressman, used some lofty language to describe how he felt.
"The members who switched are going to hold a very special place in American history as the people who didn't have the guts to stand up and support the will of the House," he said after the vote. "They literally snatched discrimination out of the jaws of equality."
The GOP, however, argue they were acting to defend employers' religious freedom and rejected the insinuation that they are a party of discrimination.
"There are some people who are emotional ... that's beyond the pale. They can say whatever they want to but that's beyond the pale," said Rep. Bill Flores, R-Texas, asked about Democrats saying Republicans were a party of hate. "This country has a First Amendment that protects religious liberties, and that's all we were doing is protecting that."
Now we know this is an issue that can cause the U.S. House of Representatives to mirror the raucous House of Commons.
Shame, shame is the right word-for Democrats supporting perverts in the little girl’s bathrooms.
Do democrats feel any shame for obama, hillary or passing obamacare without a single republican vote?
Everyone is protected equally under the Constitution however those Democrats want special protection?
“The will of the house”? Wouldn’t that be determined by whether a bill passes or not? Or is it just assumed to be the Liberal position?
Trump is showing you can win when the other side attempts to bully their way around. Stand up to them and do the right thing.
The shame is on the left’s side, attempting to put into law perversion.
Shame indeed.
Remember what Obozo said some time ago...
WE WON.
Fascist shouting tactics in Congress are morally no different than what Nazis did.
Democrats don’t even know the meaning of the word “shame”. The have no moral compass, no integrity, no principles, no dignity and no scruples. They are the shameful ones. The Democrats are the ones who don’t mind if children are killed in their mother’s wombs, men who have unnatural sexual intercourse and women doing the same, or porn of little children. They are sickening and a cancer to our society. They are the SHAMED ones!
Mental cases.
Amen!
Shame on the filthy RATS. This should never have been brought anywhere near The Hill. It has nothing to do with running a country, except running it into the ground.
One look, and you knew the guy was a queer.
DON’T ask where that mouth has been ...

Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people.
When you have a once sentence blurb stuck in a bill, at the last second apparently (no less), that one sentence is going to be vague. Vague law is bad law, as it throws everything into the courts to define which leads to the circumstance of businesses (often small ones unable to fight back) being dragged through the Court system by special interests with deep pockets and nothing to lose in prosecuting a witch hunt in search of a precedent.
I don’t like the drive by the GOPe to create a new business model utilizing all that data being increasingly harvested/stolen from the public. We should not discriminate in the marketplace based on data which is irrelevant to the transaction at hand. Nor should we go the way of the left, punishing perceived thought crimes. Both of these approaches lead to fascism.
Ironically it seems that what we are increasingly dealing with at both extremes is fascism, and both ends of the spectrum are apoplectic with rage at the public for supporting Trump, who they accuse of, you guessed it, fascism!
Do these same idiots feel SHAME for putting our nation 19 trillion in debt?
