Democrats, skittish over pushing gun control since Al Gores bid for the White House fell short in 2000, are once again flirting with the issue, preparing to pick perhaps the most anti-gun presidential nominee in a generation.
Hillary Clintons provocations will be on the minds of thousands of Second Amendment activists gathering in Louisville beginning Thursday as the National Rifle Association hosts its annual meetings, insisting Mrs. Clintons fierce gun control stance will once again hamstring Democrats in a national election.
Likely GOP nominee Donald Trump will speak Friday, delivering his fervent pro-gun stance to the one part of the conservative coalition that has quickly and eagerly embraced him which makes the contrast with Mrs. Clinton, whos highlighted her anti-gun stance, all the more striking.
Shes already viewed as the enemy by the gun rights people anyway, so shes not losing any votes by saying Look, I think we should enact tougher gun laws in these areas like uniform background checks and some other things, said Robert J. Spitzer, who chairs the political science department at SUNY Cortland in New York.
He said Mrs. Clinton is the first Democratic candidate since Mr. Gore in 2000 to really try to use the issue as a campaign wedge attacking her remaining opponent for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Bernard Sanders, as too conservative after he voted to grant lawsuit immunity to the firearms industry last decade.
Im going to keep talking about it, and were going to make it clear that this has to be a voting issue, Mrs. Clinton said at an MSNBC town hall last month. If you care about this issue, vote against people who give in to the NRA and the gun lobby all the time.

Keep talking about it, make it an election issue. It’s a loser.
There will come a day when the US will be so diluted with Europeans and South Americans that this *might* work.
This is not that day.
Anti-gun stance - backfire. Good one.
Oh yes, and have a another Million Mom March where anti gun celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell, Barbra Streisand, Susan Sarandon, Reese Witherspoon, Ellen DeGeneres, and Oprah Winfrey can show up with their armed bodyguards and then when it’s over, they go back to their heavily guarded (and armed) estates and mansions.
Meanwhile this murderer and her rapist accomplish have countless secret service and ALL are armed to the teeth.
After 7 years of black Hitler an anti-gun stance is definitely not going to earn you any points.
Future Trump tweet:
“Hillary wants to ban guns. Her state of NY just tried with the SAFE Act, and has a 4% compliance rate among otherwise law abiding citizens. Ms. Clinton, what will you do when 96 million good Americans say NO and opt to remain heavily armed against your unconstitutional dictates?”
Mrs. Clinton replies: “You gun loving knuckledraggers don’t know who you’re f*****g with!”
This.
And this is who anti trumpers are backing in nov. This is who they want
to appoint the next slew of Supreme Court Justices.
Imagine who the most anti gun presidential candidate we’ve ever had would
nominate?
But trump, oh we can’t trust him. He’d ruin the country...........
I love your paraphrase from The Lord of the Rings. “but this is not the day”. It could become our rallying cry!
You see libtards, most of the rest of us out here in the real world cannot afford private security. Public "security" - ie. the police - are no security for us. Police protect society as a whole. Someone commits a crime, maybe, hopefully the police eventually catch him/her and the justice system punishes them and further future crime is prevented. Society is protected from further acts. Well, that's the theory anyway. But note in that scenario there has to be some initial crime, some victim. Yeah, kinda sucks to be them. Society is protected by police, but they cannot act until a crime is committed. We don't have thought police or pre-crime units. Therefore individuals are not protected by police. (look to your left, look to your right. See a cop standing there to protect you? No? Then you see my point.)
That threat of being the victim is very real. It is why you libtard hypocrites have armed security. It is why I own firearms and train with them regularly. I can't afford private security, so I am my own security and my family's first line of defense.
So when I say we'll consider gun control when you give up your armed security for yourselves and your family members it is not because I expect you to actually do it. In all honesty I wouldn't consider any gun control, past, present, or proposed, as a good idea. No, I expect you to keep your armed security for your families, and I will be keeping my armed security for mine. No more gun control - it is a demonstrably bad idea and not only ineffective at improving public safety, it is quite the opposite. Experience shows it actually makes people less safe - results in increases in crime rates. So sit down and STFU Hillary. No more gun control.
Awe Geez. Here we go again. Another run on weapons and ammo coming along with outrageous prices and shortages.
Do democrats invest in the guns and ammo companies? They should, they are the primary reason and biggest driver of sales for their success.
,,,, I’m sure many , many , many democrats own guns for all kinds of reasons . Does she think they will all be willing to give up their guns and their right to possess them just to have as their prez . What a shot in the foot that will be in a campaign .
Wow, I had no idea. But I'm glad to have helped. I think half of those must be mine.
Dude, do you think they care about all that?
They want to run a Communist Police State, and the VERY last thing on their minds is the safety of you and me.
Keep talking about it, make it an election issue. Its a loser.
You think she should be trying to avoid it as much as possible...It has been a losing stance in National politics since i can remember....She gets terrible advice...GOOD!
