An overwhelming majority of Republican voters say their partys leaders should get behind Donald J. Trump, even as he enters the general election saddled with toxic favorability ratings among the broader electorate, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
And as Mr. Trump faces deep skepticism with general election voters and some Republican holdouts, the Democratic front-runner, Hillary Clinton, is grappling with Senator Bernie Sanders and how to win over his impassioned supporters.
Both parties thus approach their July nominating conventions with significant unease and hurdles to overcome. Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton are widely disliked by voters, and both parties will need to repair schisms that might spell doom in an ordinary election year. But this, of course, is no ordinary year.

Trump, imperfect as he may be, is our ONLY hope!
And yet, we still have people posting anti-Trump crap on this forum... In direct opposition to JimRobs edict that we unite behind the nominee!
Why dont they get the ZOT!?
The nation hangs by a tenuous thread... anyone who opposes the nominee is the enemy at this point!
My Mama named me Thomas. I therefore doubt whether the prevaricating, dissembling, mendacious bastards even CONDUCTED a poll. Theh KNEW the picture they wanted to paint, so why conduct a poll, and then tinker with it? I think they made it up out of whole cloth.
They had another article today called “stop the polling insanity” which says that Trump only polls better than McCain/Romney among Latinos because the poll didn’t ask questions in Spanish, so they must have gotten confused. Not joking...you can’t make this stuff up. Lol.
Nixon also instituted wage and price controls, though he claimed at some point that he did it to call the Democratic bluff when they passed legislation enabling it. Also, supposedly, the idea was majority-popular at the time.
Whatever the reasoning/excuses, it was a downright socialist thing to do and cost the country greatly for at least a decade later (according to Friedman).
