Billionaire businessman and philanthropist David Koch has pledged tens of millions of dollars to help bankroll the campaign of Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson, according to a source within Johnsons campaign.
Kochs money will be made available should Johnson, a former two-term Republican governor of New Mexico, secure his second consecutive Libertarian Party presidential nomination, the source said.
The Libertarians will select their presidential ticket during the partys national convention later this month in Orlando.

Harry Reid was right.
Wish I had money to burn....
That’s money down the toilet.
“Thats money down the toilet.”
All money in our political system is money down the toilet.
The idea is to take enough states — maybe only two or three — to deny anyone enough electoral votes to win; and therefore throw the election into the House.
This is just another “stop Trump” move.
Could be enough to siphon off some votes, but from whom?
The Koch brothers waste more of their money trying to get Hillary Clinton elected. Johnson will never get close to even 1% of the vote. No intelligent person will vote for him.
The Koch brothers are backing another loser. Imagine if they used their money to support conservative candidates who had a chance of winning. They could do a lot of good.
That money will take votes from Trump.
Apparently David Koch has lost his mind.
ROFL! Right, because Gary Johnson's last run for President in the Libertarian Party was such a wild success!
LOL.
I don’t know. Once it is known that Johnson supports decriminalization of pot and is a recreational user himself, the outcome might help Trump.
I wish the Koch brothers would spend that money building conservative institution. Imagine Hillsdale College receiving a nine figure donation from the Koch’s or taking over some of the struggling private colleges and turning them into conservative alternatives to Harvard.
Well, it’s his money.
Being a billionaire doesn’t mean that you are politically astute, or that you have the country’s best interests in mind.

Libertarians are a very diverse bunch. I don’t think Johnson represents them/us all.
In regards to abortion, it seems Johnson is certainly in favor of ending all government funding or support, but also claims a woman’s “right to choose.” He is out of sync with MANY other Libertarians on this issue. The Libertarian ideal of “respect the natural God-given rights of others” most Libertarians believe also MUST apply to unborn humans.
On immigration, he’s not for open-borders, but he is really fudging the issue by declaring that immigration laws must be enforced, but by getting rid of the nanny state and politicization of immigration (which Obama is engaged in) would necessarily reduce the amounts of illegals coming. He’d do much better if he declared we must GET CONTROL of the border first.
Disenchanted Bernie voters would go for a Libertarian before a Republican, I’d think. Libertarians who vote Republican would be bled off from Trump, though. Sounds like close to a wash, to me.
Just what we need, a pothead President.

That’s thinking much too far ahead for a corporatist.
You’re kidding me, right? Does a libertarian have a chance kin h*** of winning anything? Apparently, koch has too much money or something.
