Apparently the guy has no money and has big student debt. He probably created the hoax to get a payoff, not so much to make Whole Foods look bad. They could probably crush him if they wanted to but would probably just look nasty in the process. Best to just let it go.

An openly gay pastor

You can be openly gay or you can be a pastor.

But you cannot be both.

No, if you go back a few decades, you can find actual hate crimes.

Whole Foods has capitalized on three major "pricey" hoaxes as far as I'm concerned: 1 That organic is supposedly always better for human consumption in each and every instance, 2 That GMO's are a fiendish threat created by mad scientists working for insanely greedy corporations that could care less about any humans and 3 that there is nothing moral in working to provide healthy branded foods

Those beliefs have formed the core of a quasi-religious movement since at least the 1960s. People who fall for it will not listen to science or reason. Although it is a leftist movement based in new-age mysticism, a large number of conservatives are adherents; many of them post on this board.

My mother got caught up in it in the late 1960s. We used to eat normally before then, but once she discovered "health food," she took to serving some really interesting... stuff. She would buy carob bars, because some article in Prevention Magazine claimed that Carob tastes just like fine Dutch chocolate. Gag. I think a tenet of the food-religion is that if food tastes good, it is sinful to eat it.

I think that there’s much more organic food sold, than grown.

That being said, I think Whole Foods has got some expensive, but tasty things to eat. I dunno, I eat things because I want to, rather than because they fit an image or lifestyle. :-)

It does not take science to see and taste the difference between free ranging chicken that one can get at WF and the fat laden chicken raised in a cage one gets at a brand name supermarket "for the masses."

Or, put environmentally as that piece of crap Rachel Carson did, and they included in this mural on a wall in Cambridge Massachusetts:

"Indication of harm, not proof of harm, is our call to action."

Let that sink in for a second. Liberals only need to think something is a problem to go after it and destroy it. No proof. Only their opinion.

Sound familiar?

Of course, as others have pointed out, the hoax pastor and Whole Foods are on the same side, mostly.

It is all just a misunderstanding.

It is all part of the environmental nonsense that replaced Judeo-Christian morality for many people. If I’ve married six times and abandoned five families in the process, I’m square with God because I separate my recyclables and eat “free-range chicken”.

It has just become a rallying point for people living outside of Biblical norms.

In my town there is some kind of organic garden grown on public land; there is now a sign in English & Spanish asking people to stop stealing the vegetables. The “replacement Americans” are taking the crops grown by the ageing liberals who want to “do good”. I don’t know what the problem is (or whether or not a crime is even being committed, considering where it is located); don’t they want to “feed people”?

I don’t think Whole Foods in progressive. Their CEO is libertarian and it is non-union. It is just that they market to liberals and scam them into to paying premium prices for food.

“A “gay” pastor? Make that a “homosexual” who is not a pastor of Christianity, but a fool who does not follow the word of god. ‘Nuff said.”

The bible warns against people who teach false doctrine.

“Teach the gay homo a lesson.”

Currently in a predominately homosexual community in Dallas, a few fags have gotten beat up out on the city streets. Odd thing is, even though there is surveillance everywhere, none of the attacks have been caught on video. I would bet the farm that those faggots are getting hurt during rough sex and are using the injuries to blame “homophobia.”

It had to be a hoax or the so called pastor is the biggest idiot in the world. The cake box had a window showing the top of the cake as plain as day, he had to see it before paying and leaving the store.

I didn’t know that.

The CEO is John Mackey, he only earns $1 a year.

Not a “misunderstanding”, just a pathetic attempt at extortion by one of life’s losers.

I was researching Christian businesses to try and limit my shopping with them and since I like Whole Foods, I did a search on them. They came up as Buddhist. Who knew?

Two thoughts on the matter, both of which is to ensure this sort of thing NEVER happens in the future.

In every case, and this has never happened, the filing of a false police report should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Secondly, I am completely against Whole Foods dropping their law suit against this liar. If this is a publicly owned company, the investors should demand that the a$$hat who falsely made the claim be made an example of, and be made to pay a penalty. After all, he did great damage to the company, and to their investment. Had Whole Foods not had surveillance video, the false claims could have financially damaged every investor.

As with false rape claims, these aren’t “learning moments,” but actually do great damage to real victims, and they also victimize innocent bystanders.

Mark
