8-year-old girl in choked unconscious in South Loop bathroom while mom in next stall, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is accused of choking an 8-year-old girl until she passed out in the bathroom of a restaurant in Chicago's South Loop.

The girl was with her mother at the Jason's Deli in the 1200-block of South Canal Street on Saturday, police said. The girl and her mother were inside the restroom separated by stalls around 1:15 p.m.

Police say 33-year-old Reese Hartstirn walked in and targeted the girl, choking her and trying to lock her in a stall. The mother heard her daughter scream and grabbed her.

Police said other people in the deli helped hold the man until officers arrived.

"We're blessed to have a wonderful relationship with the Chicago Police Department. Many of them are our customers and because of their connection to our deli, this unfortunate situation was handled very quickly. We're proud of how out team members responded and thankful that we have the kind of customers that are willing to lend a hand in a difficult situation. We continue to work hard every day to make every customer happy."

The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, but police did not have information about her condition.

Thanks Antonia. You are, of course, absolutely right. My edition of The Federalist Papers includes the Anti-Federalist papers, but the site you pointed to is very useful. The admission of the genetic identity confused is certainly not an enumerated power of the federal government. My naïve assumption is that our problem is not with the anchor person, Obama and whomever follows him, but with Congress, which has the authority to remove judges, remove laws, and defund agencies which are largely in violation of the Constitution, not having the authority even to exist. Our weakness is in not insisting upon Congressmen and state officials who honor, defend, and protect our legal foundation. We should defund courts created by the Executive protect these agencies like HUD, DHS, ATF, BLM, EPA and hundreds of others, to replace federal courts from challenges to the authority of these agencies who prevent us from using natural resources, turning puddles into navigable waters, second guessing state court decisions by citizens, such as state referenda limiting marriage to a man and woman, threatening states with the loss of funds for education if they limit public bathrooms for men to men and those for women to women.

Lets use the correct terminology

Next time someone says homosexuality is okay ask them “so you think a man putting his penis into another mans anus is ok?” Suddenly they get lall squeamish and say something like ‘ I don’t like to think about that.”
