CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man is accused of choking an 8-year-old girl until she passed out in the bathroom of a restaurant in Chicago's South Loop.
The girl was with her mother at the Jason's Deli in the 1200-block of South Canal Street on Saturday, police said. The girl and her mother were inside the restroom separated by stalls around 1:15 p.m.
Police say 33-year-old Reese Hartstirn walked in and targeted the girl, choking her and trying to lock her in a stall. The mother heard her daughter scream and grabbed her.
Police said other people in the deli helped hold the man until officers arrived.
Jason's Deli released a statement Friday regarding the incident:
"We're blessed to have a wonderful relationship with the Chicago Police Department. Many of them are our customers and because of their connection to our deli, this unfortunate situation was handled very quickly. We're proud of how out team members responded and thankful that we have the kind of customers that are willing to lend a hand in a difficult situation. We continue to work hard every day to make every customer happy."
The girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital, but police did not have information about her condition.

Politicians and companies that go along with this are just as GUILTY and RESPONSIBLE for what happened to this little girl as the man who assaulted her . They GAVE him permission to go in there.
Bttt
And women are going along with this. I have a female leftist friend with two daughters who is enraged that America doesn’t want to open up its bathrooms to “all genders”.
But Barky doesn’t care about us Americans...he only wants his way or nothing else...
We have seen an increase of this action since all this bathroom tranny crap has been started by Barky, and it’s only going to get worse...
To those on the left this is an unfortunate ‘wardrobe malfunction.’
In some cultures, parents were proud to offer their daughters to priests for human sacrifice.
How could he "try to lock her in a stall" without being in the stall with her?
Laws don’t prevent this, the guy would have still went in there regardless of the law
Laws don’t prevent crimes, they define them
However we should not be opening up the bathrooms like this, only a sick mind would think this was a good idea. Obama was pouring gas on this fire the other day by requiring schools, without any congressional approval, to open bathrooms to whatever the student feels comfortable with.
Less the 0.03% of the population is “transgender” and very few schools have them. But Obama is creating a “solution” for a problem that does not exist.
[[In some cultures, parents were proud to offer their daughters to priests for human sacrifice.]]
No different than offering your children to planned parenthood. It has crept into our culture too.
This is a horrible event, and has beend posted at least a half-dozen times with the same comments. But this perp was a man who looked like a man, not some tranny in drag who wouldn’t have drawn suspicion. He might have attacked the girl with or without stupid bathroom gender access nonesense.
I am not demeaning the horror of this crime or the stupidity of the entire LGBT bathroom issue, but there is nothing in this story that suggests there was anything other than evil intent in the perps mind that caused the attack.
Please ask your friend about locker rooms and shower rooms. Because if a man who "self-identifies" as a woman can choose a woman's rest room, why can't he also choose a woman's locker room and woman's shower room?

Pretty obvious that she has no sense when it comes to protecting her daughters . Send her the links to the bathroom assault articles as the come out because this is going to increase in frequency . Maybe it will help her get a clue.
Yep, but without the law (and without this current PC culture) someone would have immediately raised an alarm. Now people are afraid to say anything, not alone do anything.
If you see something, say something. But only if the suspect is a normal white Christian heterosexual male.
As I've said several times, this is a woman-to-woman problem.
It's a problem between women as a group - a group which tends to be liberal - and a subset of very liberal, very radical women.
One problem is that liberals become very invested in their positions. They think they are smarter than everyone else, so they tend to paint themselves into corners, where they can't back down without admitting that (a) they were wrong in their position on whatever issue, and (b) that they were wrong in their belief that they're smarter than everyone else.
It's very, very tough for them to back down at that point. The best the rest of us can hope for is that - at some point - liberalism as a whole will cut this or that activist group loose, and they (the group) will go into the memory hole.
Of course the members of that group - as individuals - go on their way, join other groups, and keep doing what they do.
It's interesting to note that in this case (the "open bathrooms" issue) there is no single individual who has emerged as the champion, the "face of the issue." Perhaps because no one wants to be the next Cindy Sheehan.
You can say that again.
There has never been a problem in the past with this. Why is Obama throwing out this answer in search of a problem.
Never in my life have I seen a person so infatuated with perverts as Obama!
[[Laws dont prevent this, the guy would have still went in there regardless of the law

No laws do not prevent crimes but bad laws open a society to MORE CRIMES .
Making it normal for men to enter the women’s room opens the door for assault just as unfettered welfare encourages irresponsible behavior and broken families .
To distract us from other, bigger problems. That he has no intention of solving.
