This is a horrible event, and has beend posted at least a half-dozen times with the same comments. But this perp was a man who looked like a man, not some tranny in drag who wouldn’t have drawn suspicion. He might have attacked the girl with or without stupid bathroom gender access nonesense.
I am not demeaning the horror of this crime or the stupidity of the entire LGBT bathroom issue, but there is nothing in this story that suggests there was anything other than evil intent in the perps mind that caused the attack.

Opening the door to whomever feels like going in opens the door for regular men who are rapist to go in too .
It normalizes males entering into the ladies room when they would normally be chased out.
BTW just because this one wasn’t trans means nothing . Trans men assault women also .
The reason the story is directly connected to the bathroom laws is that now a man can walk into a women’s washroom and the people who witnessed it will not report it.
If they’re allowed to use women’s washrooms, anyone who speaks up when they witness it is labelled a hateful bigot. It is exactly the same as the people who suspected the San Bernadino terrorists, but didn’t speak up.
It’s true that a deviant could attack someone in the women’s washroom before this, but now they have permission to enter.
It has always been that when a man enters a women’s restroom, there would be red flags raised and the interloper removed and charged with some offense. Now, the PTB have decided that such an event no longer raise suspicions. If you are at an establishment and a woman enters a restroom, followed by a man, you are not to be alarmed. Those few extra seconds or moments of hesitation are all that’s needed for something terrible to occur. It is a method of desensitization. A method to allow the very incidents as in Chicago to be ignored and tolerated. Had the mother NOT been in the next stall, the child would be assaulted or dead. Whether or not this incident is directly related to perverts being allowed to use any restroom, the effect is the same.
You are missing the point. None of these laws require that a man dress like a woman to walk into the wrong restroom.
Any man, based solely on what he feels, can walk into anywhere.
And yes he might have walked in anyway. But the point is, before the silliness, the moment he walked in people could have attacked/restrained him. The law now allows them to get in much easier to do their bad stuff. That’s the whole point.
