Ted Cruz said Thursday that those who contributed to the rise of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will have to "bear that responsibility going forward."
Cruz appeared Thursday evening on the Houston-based "Michael Berry Show" and was asked whether he thought he was treated fairly in the GOP primary, with the host mentioning Fox News.
"Well listen, there's time for recriminations and you know, everyone who was responsible for the rise of Donald Trump, they will bear that responsibility going forward," Cruz responded.
"But there were more than a few players that played a disproportionate role in that rise," he added. "I'm going to focus, instead of looking backwards, I'm going to focus on looking forwards."
Cruz returned to Capitol Hill on Tuesday for the first time since dropping out of the GOP race but declined to endorse Trump, who is working to shore up support from establishment Republicans.
"I think we left it all on the field," Cruz said Thursday. "My one regret is that we came up short."
Cruz said he'll address the Texas GOP convention Saturday afternoon.
"The biggest message I'm going to say is simply 'thank you,'" Cruz said.
He'll rally Republicans with a message that "although the results may not have been as we wanted, that together we started a movement and this movement will continue."
Cruz said he wasn't sure if he'd address the national GOP convention in Cleveland in July, but he indicated he planned to attend out of an obligation to the some 600 delegates he won during the primary.
"I don't know if I'll have a role at the convention or not, but I'll certainly be there cheering on the delegates," he said.
What.A.Jerk. To think how much I wanted him to be VP. Now I realize that all those months he was sitting there silent while Trump went after others, he was actually despising Trump and just letting others take the bullets. What a duplicitous douche.

I do. I admire many of the things you have said. I supported Trump because I believe he will beat Hillary. Which brings me to my point.

I am not trying to be unkind. Again, I do like you. But, you lost. Now, the team is moving forward to the General Election. We are going to beat Hillary. We have to beat Hillary. We can't afford to not beat Hillary. This is a must win and, make no mistake, we are going to win.
It would be great if you could join us and be part of that win. I'd like to see you be part of it. However, if you don't choose to do that... well....

This is the 3rd time Cruz has blown is attack Trump dog whistle since the day he dropped out. Loser Cruzers are getting the message to continue their campaigning for Hillary. How principled and conservative of Ted Cruz.
Cruz should definitely not be given a spot at the convention given his attitude. Since he dropped out he’s not said a word aimed at unifying the support against HRC. Reason? He wants to run in 4 years and keep his supporters loyal to him, and angry at Trump. Thus, is seems he will never try to help defeat HRC.
I voted for Cruz in the Texas primary. That being said, it is waaaaay past time for Cruz to STFU and just go away. Yes, I know he is still bitter, but it is time for him to grow up, put on his big boy underwear, and deal with it.
Then, Texans who voted for Cruz when he ran for the Senate are responsible for giving us TPA and TPP and the Corker Bill (and the North American Union—if the globalists succeed in their crusade to make it a reality.)
