On the right, we’ve grown to pride ourselves on our greater openness to debate and ideas, on having no need to toe a Politically Correct line or crawl into a “safe space” like pampered college kids who just can’t handle hearing from anyone who disagrees with them.
For myself, I am so personally dedicated to this ideal that I even perform the great personal sacrifice of reading the comments field beneath my articles.
Yet somehow I wasn’t surprised to see Donald Trump supporters, those swaggering tough guys, turn one of their favorite Internet forums into a safe space where they no longer need to encounter criticism or opposition. Earlier today, Free Republic proprietor Jim Robinson announced that the discussion board would no longer tolerate opposition to Trump’s candidacy.

I ended my hiatus from FR not long after Trump announced. Was really frustrated with politics after the 2012 disappointment and the 2014 betrayals.

No doubt. The TR3B isn’t claimed by the govt, but they’re pretty sure it’s man made. Course, they also say it runs off of nuclear energy and is reverse engineered from alien crafts. Neat thing is it was documented in Britain on ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ years ago (70s or 80s). ~~ Just cool stuff in my opinion, but I like this kind of thing. :0)

And for the most part, it just isn't what it used to be.

If there really is stuff like that going on, well, I’m not sure I want to know. The world is a scary enough place as it is without the boojums messing around with us.

The word “conservative” is just not precise, and it’s being used as a magic password. Its adherents are being spirited down a wrong path.

The media and the GOPe now mean ‘neocon’ when they say ‘conservative’.
Similarly, the media and others now say ‘evangelical’ when they mean ‘Dominionist’.
Note how inaccurate those usages are. Note how congruent neocon and Dominionist goals and agendas are. Those are not accidents.
Same here dude, but Trump is having an added bonus effect and that is flushing out all the douchebags like O’Rourke who’d stab the Republic in the back over this. We are hopefully going to get a righteous cleansing of waterery saced Bohnerites, Hastertites, McLames etc... During this cycle.

I guess I missed most of their stuff. But there’s about 3 on that list that I remember fairly well.
Or DU or DailyKOS. Not to mention the never ending threats of jail and murder for conservatives and Christians over there. FR is like a garden party in comparison.
What part of private ownership is so hard to understand? One can always leave. It’s like complaining about the policies of youtube or twitter or any other FREE internet service.
