The University of Minnesotas School of Public Health was a lot less healthy this week.
In celebration of International No Diet Day, the school of public health, together with the University of Minnesotas School of Social Work and its College of Food and Agriculture, invited Virgie Tovar, a self-proclaimed fat activist, to instruct Americas future nutritionists, dietitians and social workers on the finer points of fat oppression.

Trigglypoof..?!
Yeeeeewwww... as a thin person, I hate being lectured to by ugly people about oppression.
Oh dear - another phobia.
If you don’t admire obesity, you’re not phobic. If you don’t agree with homosexuality, you’re not phobic. If you think there’s no such thing as “transgender”, you’re not phobic.
Get a grip, folks. It’s disagreement, not phobia. But I guess calling everyone phobic is more apt to silence the disagreement.
But, hey when everyone is phobic then no one is phobic... or something like that.
I’m overweight. It’s not good for me & I seriously need to lose some pounds. Normal body weight means what it means: better health and a pleasing appearance. I will never stop trying to lose weight & reject any notion of a `new normal’ when it comes to overweight, which is what it is.
This `fativist’ is seriously delusional.
Yeah, I’ll pass on Younger Rosanne Barr, too.
When Virgie Tovar lies around the house, she truly lies AROUND the house!
I agree with you, by the way. I find my own extra fat disgusting, but I guess I enjoy food too much.
I didn’t know that Porky Pig had children.
This is why I am into “fat shaming”.
Don’t lose those extra pounds . . . for the sake of the children.
Combined PING! and DANG!
Gluttony, sodomy, etc. are all sins against a holy God. Even minor attempts to point out the natural consequences brings a defensive attack to rationalize the sin. Calling sin a lifestyle will never bear good fruit.
“Fat Privilege”means they get to eat from your plate and you’d better not complain.
But what if you have phobia-phobia?
Dear Fatso,
If you are so much an “activist”, why not do what other so-called “fat activists” have done ... sign up on “bbcsluvsbbws” social media, shut up, and leave the rest of the U.S. alone!
(children, ask yo daddy)
