Ted Cruz floated the possibility of restarting his presidential campaign if he wins Nebraskas GOP primary on Tuesday and avoided saying whether he supports Donald Trump's bid for president.
Cruz, who suspended his White House run last week, said he does not expect to win Nebraska's primary but is leaving the door open.
"We launched this campaign intending to win. The reason we suspended our campaign was that with the Indiana loss, I felt there was no path to victory," he said Tuesday on conservative host Glenn Beck's radio program.
"If that changes, we will certainly respond accordingly."
Cruz demurred on supporting Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, because the Republican National Convention and general election are still months away.
"This is a choice every voter is going to have to make. I would note, it's not a choice we as voters have to make today," Cruz said when asked about supporting Trump.
He also brushed aside the prospects of a convention fight or third-party presidential bid.
Cruz and allies told supporters Monday night call that they would not try to block Trumps nomination but instead focus on influencing the partys platform and rules, according to Politico.
Cruz joins a number of prominent Republicans who have said they are not yet supporting Trump for president.
Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, and former GOP presidential nominees Mitt Romney and John McCain have all decided not to attend the party's convention in July, an apparent rebuke of Trump.
And House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said last week he was not ready to endorse Trump, adding he needed assurances that Trump would champion conservative ideas.
Cruz dropped out of the presidential race last week after losing big in Indiana's primary.

He is beginning to sound more like Ted Baxter
Cruz doesn't "get" fundamental traditional US values that Trump aspires to restore. It's all about a sense of fair play. Cruz didn't play fair with his do-what-it-takes-to-win grab for delegates. He isn't playing fair now that he's out of the game. Cruz is exhibiting absolutely NO DIGNITY and NO CLASS!!
Had to pound my anger out on the keyboard....grrrrr
Hey Ted, you can’t head fake a train.
Go back to shooting “rings” at the Y.
Sad.
This bus left the station for good in Indiana.
What’s he going to do...suspend his suspended campaign if he loses in Nebraska tonight? ...which I believe is going to happen in a big way.
Ted needs to use his skills to start mending bridges and uniting the party against Hitlery for November. That’s what he could do that would be most beneficial.
Nebraska is a Caucus State, so he likely has his thieves/GOPe delegate wranglers in place. He cannot win a voting State but can steal a caucus state with the GOPe twisting arms.
You have a point. As the Donald pointed out the day Cruz suspended, you gotta have the right temperament to slug it out toe-to-toe. Cruz doesn’t have the right temperament for that.
Farce is OK! But “Clymer” fits him better.
Don’t interrupt him while he is destroying himself further.
He’s bad business and we are well shed of him.
He doesn’t GET traditional American values because he’s from CANADA!
Interesting. I didn’t know Nebraska was a caucus state!
Cruz is like herpes. Just when you think he’s gone, he flares back up again.
Sounds great, Cruz, if you win Nebraska, you just start that thing back up. It’s good to get an early start on 2020.
“Go back to shooting rings at the Y.”
*I* made a RINGER!!!
of Canada
now that Trump has pulled almost even with Hillary the party has moved on from Cruz for President in 2016.. if he doesn’t realize that by now then he is delusional and should seek help with his mental health,, you have to know when to retreat or you end up like Hitler did in Stalingrad..
Steiner isn’t coming...
Many people voted before Cruz suspended his campaign. Voting by mail is very common. Yes, the NE primary is today.
