Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump believes that leading Southern Baptist Convention ethicist Russell Moore is a "truly a terrible representative" of Evangelicalism.
The Manhattan billionaire businessman-turned-politician, who frequently takes to Twitter to attack the character of his critics and opponents, lashed out at the president of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission with a sharply worded tweet Monday morning.
"@drmoore Russell Moore is truly a terrible representative of Evangelicals and all of the good they stand for. A nasty guy with no heart!" Trump tweeted at 5:05 a.m. EST Monday morning.

If you feel that Hillary will lead to better moral values than Trump then vote for her.
I feel Trump is superior in that arena but to each his own.

That’s a satire website.
I understand there is now an openly gay (female?) about to be ordained by the (I think) Southern Baptists, who will be a military chaplain.
I was really shocked at that. I have a number of family members who are in the ministry of that denomination, and it is just hard to feature that.
Good commentary. Another of his good deeds is to give all of us a major civics lesson on how the party primaries (don’t) work!
Where, pray tell, did Trump attack Moore’s faith?
Wow, I had no idea. I was raised in a Baptist Church (attend one now), but am a member of an Evangelical Church in Tysons’s Corner, VA (when I can get there...distance). I had no idea. What was that Jesus said? “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?” Please, Lord, let me be found faithful!
You think I’m defending Russell Moore? LOL
I have a long history of being a critic of Russell Moore. I’m sure I’ve criticized him here, long before he said a word about Trump. I have a long list of criticisms of the ERLC. I think it should be shuttered. I reject sacralism in all forms, whether Roman Catholic or Southern Baptist (I’m a lifelong Southern Baptist with a degree from an SBC university). I think Dr. Moore should stick to teaching and preaching and drop the rest. He’s a gifted preacher.
My comment was in regard to your list of priorities. I bet I agree with your position on every one of those issues. And yes, they are pressing. But for me and many others, the overriding problem in this nation is spiritual, not material. Almost all of our problems flow from an underlying spiritual problem. Unfortunately we can’t solve spiritual problems through politics. We can change laws, but not hearts. Only the Lord can change a heart. For instance, we can try to protect marriage but we will never be successful if the people have totally lost their traditional Judeo-Christian ethic. Trump might do many things I agree with, but he can’t save this nation. No politician can. I think Christians have put far too much trust in politicians for far too long.
In the end, I vote according to my Christian conscience, not out of fear. He is sovereign. The results are in His hands anyway.
“Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.”
—Psalm 146:3
that we may be next.

God help us - it’s happening now. The World Council of Churches was formed in the 50’s as a wonderful ideal, by those who sought to form it, but it has been the tool to start the process of traducing the various Christian protestant denominations who were strong in this nation prior to WWII and signed on to it. It is those who have been primarily under attack and we are seeing the fruits now.... in more ways than one.... in those Churches which have fallen in their upper leadership into apostasy. Destruction of religious faith IS a tenet of the Communist doctrine, and they are getting it done in the organized religions.
BTW, I really liked your statement: “ Trumps job is to worry about the Kingdom of the Left. Otherwise the Kingdom of the Right might have to go underground.”
This is not what a true man of faith would say. This is a politician. This is not a man guided by faith.

Thank for the specifics of the incident. It helps clarify things. I like the above quote from your statement as well. Based on what you reported, I would have to agree.
This “preacher” is a phony. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Just a younger version of Jew hatin’ Jimma Cotta.
Thank-you. Makes sense.
WHat don’t you under stand???
Donald Trump Is Not the Moral Leader We Need
When you attack Trump have you not learned that he attacks you back double!
Thank you my dear friend. This helps tremendously.
What a bizarre post.
yea—that is sad.
Like I’ve said to others...name one...just one non-red state that Ted Cruz would take in the General.
The answer is zero.
He would loose CO, IA, WI, FL, OH and probably MO.
And what us Caesar’s? The state’s fiat currency that bears his image and which we idolize. And what is God’s? Man, made in His image, namely ourselves.
Light being shined on Trump’s morals and ethics makes him squirm.
