This story is an example why the republican party consistently loses against the progressive left. In response to the ridiculous, albeit recent, NC bathroom laws (which the MSM are having fun bashing conservatives on the head with) the Ted Cruz constituency wants to write bathroom laws into the 2016 republican party platform.
Yes, yes, unfortunately thats the modern right-wing cultural GOPe. Look over there, shiny thing, shiny thing quick, go chase it .. quick make a law to control it . bathrooms, gays, transgenders oh noes, the humanity !
WASHINGTON DC After he lost the Republican nomination, Sen. Ted Cruzs backers will now reportedly pivot towards trying to gain control of the GOPs platform during the national convention.
According to The New York Times, top Cruz aide Ken Cuccinelli wrote in an email to supporters urging them to come to Cleveland in July to protect against liberal changes to our platform. Cuccinelli confirmed the effort to the Times, telling them that Cruzs backers seek to protect movement conservatism, including a firming of the partys core positions on abortion and the addition of language regarding transgender bathroom use.
We want to have girls go in girls bathrooms, he said, alluding to how presumptive nominee Donald Trump has taken a more liberal position than Cruz on which bathrooms transgender individuals can use. (read more)
Bathroom monitors? Really? Thats what the Ted Cruz wing of the republican party is worried about being the bathroom police?
Personally, Ive come to the conclusion the GOPe actually meets behind mahogany doors and picks out things -intentionally- to make issues out of and give the republican party the public appearance of insane nuttery. Ive come to believe they do this on purpose as party of the entire construct of the UniParty
. there can be no other reasonable explanation.

Excuse me???? Coalition???? What he’s now trying to copy Trump in putting together a team to run the country????
And his opinion matters HOW????????????????????????????
Man my elementary school didn’t get involved in this 50 years ago.
To think it is an issue for the feds is just crazy.
I agree with Cruz on this.
Potty Platform.
Sundance want creepy men to be able to expose themselves to little girls in locker rooms etc...
This is the shiny object this time around.
Flag-burning amendments got old.
You got THAT from reading the article?
Is this conservatism without any dangerous testosterone?
Yes.
What other conclusion can there be?
You tell me.
Read the articles on his site and see what he believes in.
uhhhh.....Ted, here’s a bit of news for you...
YOU LOST!!!
You haven't?
Shouldn’t a smaller less intrusive Federal Government leave such issues to the States. Wouldn’t that be conservative?
The surrender monkeys are at it again. The left is using bathrooms as the wedge, because bathroom controversies can be trivialized and mocked. But this is about much more than just bathrooms. If you have been paying attention to the rapid accretion of regulations, guidance documents, and policy statements now on the table, "sex," which is binary (leaving out the hermaphrodites), is being superseded as a legal category by "gender," defined as open, fluid, and self identified.
Bathrooms are the least of it. By entirely lawless regulatory fiat, under the fraudulent cover of Title IX, an absolute right is being asserted for mentally ill boys to invade girls dressing rooms and showers, to play on girls athletic teams, and to be treated in every respect like a girl. And we see once again the solidarity of the left, as the feminist lobby apparently has no problem with this.
This will be used as a sledgehammer against any institution that dares to resist. That, I suspect, is the real goal. Catholic and other religious schools will be forced to mix the sexes inappropriately. They will be forced to either abandon fundamental tenants of sexual and body modesty or go out of business. The left would regard either course as a victory, although forcing non-state schools (colleges, hospitals, charitable organizations, etc.) out of business is undoubtedly the preferred result.
And now, because Donald Trump doesn't understand why this is a problem, we will be lectured by the Trumpkins why it is stupid to resist.
Well, by “not” fighting on these issues, with so many of our so-called ‘conservative’ leaders running away like scared rabbits, and not standing up against the persecution of Christian bakers, wedding-photographers and such, and allowing perverts the full run of bathrooms, locker-rooms and showers, we now have a sick cesspool of a country that is hardly worth the effort to salvage.
So many of our own ‘leaders’ have basically given the green-light to all this grotesque depravity. I hope they all choke to death.
To think it is an issue for the feds is just crazy.
It is the FEDS that have been forcing local schools to allow gender-confused boys to play on girls' athletic teams and use girls' showers, locker rooms, and restrooms. Emboldened by success in those areas, local liberal city councils have passed ordinances to expand on this type of control thru "anti-discrimination" ordinances.
NC passes a state law that prohibits government agencies from using "non-discrimination" regulations to force schools or businesses or churches or other organizations to allow persons of one biological gender to use the restrooms, locker rooms, or showers of the other gender. And apparently even on this forum people think THAT is the crazy position. Up is down, left is right, and forced conformity to gender-bending is the new trans-conservatism.
