“It was his own staff that was behind much of it, as I recall.”
Exactly. McCain surrounded himself with RINOs, then complains that a bunch of RINOs worked overtime to destroy Sarah Palin.

How about your own campaign manager, Johnnie?

I don’t remember him saying any such thing in 2008. Matter of fact, it was his Romney hold-overs in his campaign who were behind much of the smearing, and his own daughter was also involved.

I don’t believe she’ll ever openly campaign against McCain. She’s loyal, even if he never was. She can remain silent, though.

“I agree 100 per cent with him that the media’s treatment of Palin has been disgraceful.”
But if he were like Donald Trump, he would have fixed it! By not standing up to the media, he was complicit in their abusive tactics.

how about bad treatment of Sarah by your own staff ?

How about failing go to after a target-rich know-nothing? How often did you mention Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers?
You are a coward, Juan. Reaching across the aisle was just an excuse not to confront the truths

That was his fault as much an anyone else’s. This man is just a liar. He really needs to be gone from public life.

It was his own staff that was behind much of it, as I recall. If I remember correctly, it was the former Romney staff who migrated to the McCain campaign after Romney dropped out. Snakes.

I expect that Sarah will stay out of this entirely, as I think she should. Fair or not, if she endorses McCain's opponent the media will hype this up as her betrayal of McCain, along with the fact that McCain gave lukewarm support of Trump by defending him against the #nevertrump GOP establishment, so in that sense he remained an ally of Palin who has been on outspoken in support of Trump.
And while such a media portrayal as a "betrayal" may not adversely affect either you or me, I think it could significantly harm Palin both in AZ and elsewhere with a sufficient number of voters so that, putting aside the loyalty question, as a practical matter, the possible benefit is not worth the likely consequence.
