Kerry slams Trump's wall, tells grads to prepare for 'borderless world'
Washington Examiner ^ | 5/6/16 | PETE KASPEROWICZ

Posted on 05/08/2016 7:42:40 AM PDT by AndyJackson

Secretary of State John Kerry took a shot at Donald Trump during his Friday commencement speech at Northeastern University, by saying no wall is big enough to keep dangerous terrorists out of the United States.

"Many of you were in elementary school when you learned the toughest lesson of all on 9/11," he said. "There are no walls big enough to stop people from anywhere, tens of thousands of miles away, who are determined to take their own lives while they target others."

"So I think that everything that we've lived and learn tells us that we will never come out on top if we accept advice from sound-bite salesmen and carnival barkers who pretend the most powerful country on Earth can remain great by looking inward," Kerry added. "And hiding behind walls at a time that technology has made that impossible to do and unwise to even attempt."

Kerry didn't mention Trump by name, but Trump has repeatedly called for a wall on the southern U.S. border, and many Democrats, and some Republicans, have taken to calling him a carnival barker.

Kerry also seemed to dismiss the importance of national borders, and said technology has reshaped the world into one that the U.S. must engage at the risk of being left behind. He said Trump and others who want to look inward are making a mistake, even in the face of rising tension and violence in the world.

"For some people, that is all they need simply to climb under the sheets, close their eyes and push the world away," Kerry said. "And shockingly, we even see this attitude from some who think they ought to be entrusted with the job of managing international affairs."

"The future demands from us something more than a nostalgia for some rose-tinted version of the past that did not really exist in any case," he said. "You're about to graduate into a complex and borderless world."

The problem with progressive globalists is not the ideal that all humanity share a common bond and interest. . .it is, rather, their rejection of the notion that the power to govern originates outside of the government. . .

They categorically reject the sacred idea that our rights are endowed by the Creator and thus. . the power to govern is dependent on the consent of the people. THIS is why the Left and idiots like Kerry are promoting. . not global harmony and the interests of the people. . but rather are promoting that all power be transferred to the power elites who know better what is "sustainable" and what is "unsustainable"

We better understand. . .in the minds of these criminals. . .endowed individual rights, natural law and limited government are at the top of their list of things deemed to be NOT SUSTAINABLE. They are surely jerks. . but they are dangerous jerks. Making America GREAT again is the ultimate wrench in the works for their designs for global power.

Barbara Bush should have raised her own kids, instead of relying of Mexican immigrants to do HER JOB.

That is going to leave a mark....

The only thing standing in the way of leftism’s final assault is some resurgent nationalism. Thus nation-states must be eliminated.

EXACTLY! Until all borders are open to us, dissolving borders is a non-starter. Although they didn’t wait for my permission.

I believe that the root of the issue is even deeper than that. The globalists believe that private property ownership (at least that in the hands of other people) is evil, and must be suppressed. They started with property taxes and other more local means to take away individuals' sovereignty. Now, they have progressed to the point where they have to disallow national sovereignty.

Secure borders - the preservation of a nation as an insular entity - allows that nation to set itself apart from the world. To be better - or worse - depending on the will of the nation's people. That is anathema to the globalists on every side of the aisle, but especially to the leftists now in power.

Kerry, he’s just an idiot.”

Trump said Saturday in Lynden that Kerry gave the Libya oil to Iran. Trump said that the Libyan oil was the finest oil in the world.

Currently watching This Week with Stephie-Poo interview Gary Johnson.

This is the first time in 25 years I have ever seen the mainstream media publicize the Libertarian party’s existence. First time ever!

Open borders, is everything to the left and the #nevertrump traitors.

Steffy often telegraphs the strategy of the left. This tells me they are very worried about Trump in November and are looking to bolster the 3rd party effort.

oh? How come Japan has no Islamic terrorist attacks? How about North Korea? The simple fact is that if a nation is determined to keep out a harmful element it can and will.

I quit a job that paid would have paid about $ 200,000 today, to walk in the boss’s (sp) office and say “I’m done. Going home to raise my own son.” And I did. Never regretted it for one second.

And I’m getting my reward today. He’s 30 and has never been in trouble, other than traffic tickets. Works like a pooch, has a handful of employees he looks after. He has boatloads of friends and is a conservative. And he calls his mother, out of the goodness of his heart, EVERY SINGLE DAY, just to see how my day is going.

Unlike Barbara Bush, I haven’t foisted a bunch of entitled knuckleheads on this nation, to deal with for decades to come.

No one is going to have to clean up after my parenting.

The wall just got one foot higher.

At least, it would if you put Lurch's head on top of it ;)

If we don’t have borders we don’t have a country, and if we don’t have a country we don’t have any use for a Secretary of State. Kerry, you’re fired !

“”There are no walls big enough to stop people from anywhere, tens of thousands of miles away, who are determined to take their own lives while they target others.” “

So far, the White House wall seems to be working just fine from this perspective, though they did just announce they’re going to make it taller.

That would require tracking visa overstays. Which we could do with an app on a phone. Stop checking in, we hunt you down.

It will take years to build a wall. A lot could be achieved while waiting for the wall to be built.

Kerry, you are an idiot. Those 9/11 terrorists didn’t fly here from other countries “over the wall”. They entered legally, stayed illegally, were permitted to train as pilots, and got on planes as if they were legal residents of the USA.

They are proof that we need walls, both physical and virtual to protect ourselves and that political correctness is the breach that must be plugged.

>>This is where the left and corporatists heads are at.

>>Free flow of labor over national borders.

Yes it is. They want a world where American workers live in the same style as a third-worlder so that we’ll work for the same wages.

Meanwhile, they will live like kings on islands and behind walls and guards. As predicted, they will sell the foreign-made rope that they are hanged with.

Funny. I got a different lesson from 9/11... The ONLY way to stop people who are determined to take their own lives while targeting others is to keep them out. But that's just me.

Just ask all those in Europe who are being overrun by Muslims how that “borderless world” is working out for them.
