Top allies break with Ryan over Trump
Politico ^ | Friday May 6, 2015 | Rachael Bade

Reps. Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia and Dennis Ross of Florida — who, as House whips, help Republican leaders muster support to pass legislation — told POLITICO in interviews on Friday that they disagreed with Ryan’s decision to break with Trump in a bombshell interview a day earlier. Both lawmakers said they believe their leader is in denial about how Republican voters feel about the real-estate tycoon.

“I honestly don’t understand what Paul’s thinking — I don’t get it,” said Westmoreland, who is retiring after this year. “I try not to give advice to the speaker, but I think it just really brought about, in my opinion, even more confusion to this thing.”

Who, in their right mind would donate any money to that?

I’m convinced even more than I was last year, that Trump will win in a landslide.

We must pray that he is alert and his security is too.

Trump has sat at the table doing deals countless times. 1000s of times. THis guy Ryan thinks he has leverage? He has nothing. Nada. IF he plays hardball, Trump politely says no. They have some face saving photo op and move on. Trump holds the cards, and he may let them words things somewhat, he’s NOT going to change his stance on these issues.

Hi - what I meant was that Ryan has gotten the message from the big Republican donors. From all appearances, he doesn’t seem to really care what the “hoi polloi” who voted for Trump want. If he loses his primary, he knows there will be a nice cushy job waiting for him somewhere.

Trump is definitely leader. Call it a hostile takeover, call it what you want.

I’m sure you’ve seen this, but if not it tells the whole story. Trump was tired of the mediocrity, and knew that hew could win this thing. Like playing with children.

Paypal is the best way, but frankly, any money ear marked for a politician is going to FR.

Someone needs to start a Nehlen Watch thread to keep us up to date on the guy.

Sure didn’t take long for the weasel to feel the pinch. Found out he wasn’t the big shot after all. I’m laughing too. Great to see the smug little know-nothing hammered for a change. I hope he is cantored.

“Paypal is the best way”

Indeed. No fuss, no muss. No address, phone number, etc.

But I didn’t see that as an option on his donation web page, probably because it doesn’t give them the ID they want.

I HAVE mailed cash donations anonymously before when I didn’t want to give any information at all. I figured they wouldn’t throw it away.

Agree with that. The Chamber of Cronies and other megadonors told him to hold off endorsing Trump.

I also agree that Ryan won’t cry if he loses his primary election or enough GOP house members grow a pair and oust him from leadership. He will have a nice 7 figure salary position as a K Street lobbyist waiting for him whenever he leaves congress (hopefully this year).

I loathe that little political hack. He is a poor choice for Speaker of the House. Ryan is not a leader. He’s an opportunist.

Ryan, the Bush Boys, ghwb, gwb, jeb, along with any other Republican bigwigs are traitors to their party if they won’t follow the will of their base and support the presumptive nominee, Donald J Trump.

Period.

They are working on destroying their GOP.

Republicans should give no quarter, and show no mercy in exposing them for their elite tactics.

They are no better than Bill Clinton.

YOU are in denial if you cannot see how Donald Trump’s life and words and bulllying tactics strike at the heart of conservatism.

Dear Mr. Crybaby:

BAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!

Quit your whining. You lost. Get over it.

What’s more, you lost fair and square. In fact, even WITH your boy doing backroom deals for delegates, you still lost.

Sorry you’re bitter and spiteful that we don’t think like you want us to think.

Deal with it.

No, it is YOU who are in denial and still have your blindfold and blinkers on, incapable of admitting that Trump IS a CONSERVATIVE; one FAR more so than Ryan, Romney, McQueeg, Teddy Cruz, KaSicko, jebbie Bush, etc. have ever been or could ever be.

Wake up, smell the FISCAL CONSERVATIVE, HATER OF PC, LOVER OF THE FIRST AND SECOND AMENDMENTS, or go find someplace more comfortable for you to post.

I assume it because it is a given at this point that those who do not vote for Trump are pro Hillery, either because they actually vote for Hillery or because they have a tantrum and stay home and essentially for Hillery.

So there are only two choices and one is Hillery. It is illogical for anyone to assume otherwise.
