Dear Freepers
Basil, suffered a stroke in early January. It left her paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak. She's got very limited speech and her mental faculties are diminished. She spent many weeks in a therapeutic hospital but when it became apparent that her condition wouldn't improve, our family decided she'd be much happier at home. Hopefully we can minimize her suffering and keep her comfortable. Please pray for her, and Mr. Basil who is an amazing care giver and hasn't left her side.
Long time no see; sad that we had to meet here of all places. :(

Your Mom was such a friendly FReeper; we met yrs ago and I instantly liked her. I’m sorry to hear this. I take comfort in knowing she’ll be freeping from a much better place now. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
The bond that some of have from those early Clinton days sometimes surprises me, as I’m sure it does others, even with the ones we’ve never even met F2F. For all you early FReepers who are still here off and on, you know what I mean. <3

Your Mom was an incredible woman and I had the pleasure to meeting her many years ago. Although I hadn't been on FR for a long time, I never forgot her.

Basil was such a wonderful lady; a clever, cheerful warrior for the Second Amendment. She had an iron will and a gentle spirit.
