Donald Trump said Thursday that he will name his vice presidential pick at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this July.
Speaking in an interview with The Associated Press, Trump said that it was still early in the process to select a running mate, but that he would soon form a committee to begin vetting running mates.
“It is early — we just won yesterday,” Trump said. “I will announce it at the convention. A lot of people are interested.”
Trump has said he intends to pick a Republican with prior government experience.
Trump has not yet reached the number of delegates required to clinch the nomination, but now has a clear path to becoming the Republican standard-bearer after his remaining rivals, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, suspended their campaigns this week.

Think back people, nobody ever demanded a candidate that had not secured the nomination to select a VP candidate.
Cruz made an ass of himself picking Carly when he couldn’t even win the vote of voters. He did it for a reason.

BTW, Webb quit as Navy Secretary just ahead of having his ass fired. One of his worst hires ever. He also had the unmitigated nerve to claim Reagan’s endorsement running for the Senate in 2006 as a Democrat against Conservative Republican George Allen.

No way. His comment was misreported - he didn’t say he was supporting Trump, he said he was keeping his pledge to support the nominee.
Which means he’s still hoping for a miracle and/or giving a half-hearted endorsement, by citing a pledge that compels him to do so, rather than just saying, “Yes, I will support Trump as our nominee”.
Blah blah blah.....

All that said, the 3 books I mentioned are all good reads, from the auto-biographical “Fields of Fire,” and the anti PC book “A Sense of Honor,” to the follow up book, “A Country Such as This.” All very patriotic......
Webb was seriously wounded in Vietnam, left the Marine Corps, and became a veterans advocate after law school. (He was a Naval Academy graduate prior to his Marine Corps service.)

Lincoln chose Andrew Johnson in 1864, Lincoln was killed and Johnson became President, he was a not a good one.
I would have a lot of trouble voting for a piece of garbage like Jim Webb, Tulsi Gabbard, or Bernie Sanders (yes, one person on this thread mentioned Sanders? A joke? How am I supposed to tell anymore?). Such a selection would be a middle finger to us all.
