"You didn't look like a girl when I saw you enter," man says
A North Texas woman said she was followed into a public restroom at a hospital by a man who didn't believe she was female.
Jessica Rush said it happened last Thursday while she was being treated for an injured arm at Baylor Medical Center in Frisco. Rush, who is from The Colony, said she was about to enter a stall when she noticed a man following her into the restroom.
"It scared me at first," said Rush. "My first thought was I'm about to be attacked because I am a 5 foot, 3 [inch tall] female."
Rush then flipped on her smart phone and recorded a quick conversation with the man:
MAN: "You didn't look like a girl when I saw you enter, I thought it was..."
RUSH: "A boy?"
MAN: "Yeah."
Rush said she wore athletic clothing and a baseball cap. She said the incident angered Rush and her wife.
"I understand one thing if you're a cop of the Dallas Police Department but some random guy coming in I think is absolutely absurd and inappropriate," said Rush. NBC DFW reached out to Baylor Medical Center's Media Relations Department. A spokesperson said they could not verify if the incident happened at one of their facilities and had no other comments.
The encounter comes as the intersection of bathrooms and gender has become a flashpoint across the country since North Carolina passed a law that requires people use bathrooms that correspond to their genders at birth.
Several state legislatures are considering similar bills, according The Associated Press.
Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has said he would support legislation for a so-called "bathroom bill" in Texas.
Equality Texas, the state's largest LGBT lobbying organization, has said such policing is akin to "searching for a problem" and transgender people are more likely to be victims of assault than perpetrators.
Rush then flipped on her smart phone and recorded a quick conversation with the man
I’m surprised she wasn’t arrested right then and there for attempting to photograph people in the restroom, In fact why isn’t she under arrest???? She ADMITTED IT!
The incident angered Rush and her wife.
Apparently this woman is a mannish lesbian.
For whatever reason, many lesbians go out of their way to have a mannish appearance.
And then they are shocked just shocked that someone would mistake them for a man. When they intentionally try to resemble.men.
I think I see the problem right there.
Enjoying the Indiana results tonight, Nick?
I just follow women into restrooms because I perceive that they are female.
Wait.
Maybe not.
TGTTHNP.
Exactly. They try hard to look like men and then get offended if they succeed.
..” and transgender people are more likely to be victims of assault than perpetrators...
The stories that have been appearing seem to be mostly of uninvited, unwanted photography over stall walls.
In a nation where people are increasingly arming themselves due to fear of the government it is only a short matter of time until one of these perverts literally finds out he needs to use a female bathroom about as much as he needs a hole in his head.
“but some random guy coming in I think is absolutely absurd and inappropriate,” said Rush.”
But I thought anyone could choose where they want to walk in. And Rush the “woman” has a “wife”. Freak acted like a man.....guaranteed.
How about mind your own business, bud?
It was Texas and he was doing right. If a man sees a pervert walk into the womens room, he ought to do something. ANd he was kinda right anyway.
That was mean. :)
Agreed. But in this day and age, it's better to wait for the screams before going into the women's room looking for trouble. Texas or not, the cops are usually looking to enforce political correctness these days. He's lucky he didn't get charged as a pervert - all it takes is for one female to claim she felt afraid.
