Video posted on YouTube shows a woman at a Walmart store loudly berating a man who was paying for his groceries with food stamps.
As a child sits in the mans shopping cart looking on, the woman complains about how she is paying for his food with her tax money.
NOTE: The description below, and video above, contains strong language.
You know, I put in 50-60 hour weeks... trying to provide for my family, the man says, although some of his words are unclear.
Youre not providing for it, I am, the woman snaps back. The government is.
Youre not, the man says.
They take it out of my check, the woman says. Bull**** they dont.
The man suggests she complain to her lawmaker or vote Republican.
Oh, trust me, I am not a bleeding heart f*****g liberal, the woman answers.
The rest of the clip contains a similar back-and-forth, punctuated with expletives. Both appear to be shopping with children.
Deal with it, b***h, the man says at one point.
At another point, the woman claims the man must be a supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
Thats exactly what you vote for, they give it to you so that you vote that way, the woman says.
He may not be eligible. It's fairly common for food stamp recipients to sell their food stamps for penny's on the dollar so they can have cash to buy cigarettes and booze. I've seen people offering to buy food stamps/WICC cards when they're getting ready to go grocery shopping.
What a mean rude b!tch. At least he seem to be America.
“I would think if he were actually working 50-60 hours a week, hed be making too much to qualify for food stamps.”
—Exactly; there’s likely some fraud going on here.
You know, I put in 50-60 hour weeks”
If true, he’s likely working ‘off the books’, in order to keep his food stamps.
“They separate out the food that qualifies from the items that dont.”
They haven’t had to do that for many years. You might be thinking of WIC.
Exactly. If he is working 50-60 hours and still getting food stamps, either he and his partner have 6-10 kids, or there is some fishy fraud going on.
I'm presuming it's a crappy minimum-wage job.
A lot of times, there is a lot of shuffling going on with the product, especially at a place like Wal Mart, where you can buy a lot more than groceries. So if you see them stacking the paper towels and shampoo into a different spot, and making two separate purchases, they most likely used food stamps for the food.
Both pretty foul-mouthed among their kids.
Not necessarily any fraud. Depends on hourly wage, size of family, and his housing expenses - some of which are partly deducted.
My North Georgia County has 20% on food stamps (SNAP EBT). I see them all the time at Walmart. I try to go early so I don’t run into them because they don’t like getting up before 10:00AM (it upsets them), but some of them have taken to coming in early so they don’t get so many looks.
You wouldn’t believe what I’ve seen. I nearly cry sometimes.
No need to make separate purchases or separate food items out. Hasn’t been since EBT cards came out.
Yeah. I’m not finding fault with the way the MI Bridge Card works for food benefits. I’m just explaining how it works in a case like that.
Did he climb into a BMW when he left?
Mu guess is he works but his baby mama does not. She gets housing and EBT and such. In my old neighborhood there seems to be a class of young men who have women all over town. These women have the babies and this get housing and benefits. The “men” have no known address and move, around as they see fit. No checking accounts. No drivers licenses. And you can’t impart any wisdom to these young women of all demographics. This is their way of life. And we pay for it.

but you do have to use more than one card to pay for your items if you have non chargeable items for welfare/food stamps.
It’s pretty obvious, I’ve been in line several times behind people that get welfare / food stamp debit cards.
If you pay the slightest bit of attention, it is easy to spot.
What grates me is people buying up hundreds of dollars of T-Bones, Ribeyes, Strip Loins, etc on food stamps while I have to bargain shop.

...typical. The guy thinks the fed money tree gives him stuff. Not her. Not us. She’ll likely be charged with a hate crime. Sensitivity class is also likely.
There is always the possibility that this incident was staged to be used as election year propaganda.
Watch. When the video opens. they are simply talking to each other, not arguing. So why bother to film the exchange?
The more I watch, the more convinced I become that this was a created anti-Conservative propaganda intended to make the Facebook rounds and land on YouTube as “Explosive new video reveals Conservative greed and lack of compassion!”
The Democrats excel at this sort of fakery.
Getting in verbal altercations in public with strangers is not a smart move.
While there are definitely welfare cheats, there are also folks that are barely scraping by.
I live in a small community and recognize many faces. Some I know were hard workers all their lives, but can barely pay their bills now that they are on Social Security. While I was surprised the first time I saw some of these folks use their foodstamp debit card, in no way did I resent them taking the help.
Many proud Americans are less than 3 mortgage payments from being homeless. I have been on repossession crews where the Sheriff Dept literally drags the Father and Mother from their home, as a female officer escorts the kids. Not a pretty sight, and is very troubling to be a part of.
Do not for one minute think it can not happen to you or one of your family members.
