Donald Trump on Tuesday alleged that Ted Cruz’s father was with John F. Kennedy’s assassin shortly before he murdered the president, parroting a National Enquirer story claiming that Rafael Cruz was pictured with Lee Harvey Oswald handing out pro-Fidel Castro pamphlets in New Orleans in 1963.
A Cruz campaign spokesperson told the Miami Herald, which pointed out numerous flaws in the Enquirer story, that it was “another garbage story in a tabloid full of garbage.”
“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald's being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Trump said Tuesday during a phone interview with Fox News. “What is this, right prior to his being shot, and nobody even brings it up. They don't even talk about that. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.”
“I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.” Trump’s tangent followed his rebuke of Rafael Cruz using the pulpit to court evangelicals for his son. “I implore, I exhort every member of the body of Christ to vote according to the word of God and vote for the candidate that stands on the word of God and on the Constitution of the United States of America,” Rafael Cruz said in a video clip aired by Fox News. “And I am convinced that man is my son, Ted Cruz. The alternative could be the destruction of America.”

Honestly, I think DT is just saying the things he thinks people want to hear. When it comes down to brass tacks, he will be a populist president, IOW, he will give the people what they want in order to mollify them. I don’t believe he has any regard for the founders or the Constitutional principles upon which this country was founded. He will rule as a benevolent dictator unless he is checked by congress or the courts.
That is my opinion. I hope I’m wrong.

It makes total sense. Rafael was a communist, that is really the source of this “Great Transfer of Wealth” little worm living inside of his head when later he hooked up with religious cults out of loneliness when the other “Fair Play for Cuba” communists in Florida et all rejected him after they realized he was “demoted” and “excommunicated” by the Castro’s for what amounted to a personality conflict (Rafael was always a “let me get on stage and tell everyone else” kind of guy), it wasn’t so much the communist doctrine that he had a problem with, it was all personal stuff and personality conflicts, he gets to the US and being lonely he tries to hitch up with the Fair Play for Cuba crowd, it just so happened that Oswald was also in that crowd and handing out fliers that day - I don’t think Rafael actually was “friends” with Oswald, he just happened to be there handing out the pro-Castro propaganda leaflets and the communist stuff along with Oswald who was a communist, then Rafael gets booted out of that groupie thing and then drinking and lonely in his shabby apartment he hooks up with religious cults, actually it seems at first these were not even Christian cults but some early proto-type of some New Age types, then he find a place in some Christian odd-ball cult where he can still tout his “Great Transfer of Wealth” stuff (we see him talking about that in a video on Youtube) which is just his “steal from the rich, give to the poor” Castro stuff but now put into Holy Robes and cast as “Ted is a divine birth, a King, and some of you are also Kings, whose role is to take the wealth of all those other folks and, then, as King, after looting and taking the wealth via power, give the wealth to the ‘good’ people, give it to the priests (Rafael happens to be one of these priests, by the way)” ... so it all makes sense.
I have no doubt he was there.

Agree about the spontaneity, but IMO he would be wiser to just put a little teeny bit of brakes on his tendency to do this thing where he “speculatively wanders” kind of wherever his mouth feels like taking him. It lets him conjure up “hey what did he say” and then back off of it and it’s probabbly a tactic he’s conscious of. I hope so.
He never really needed to get so personal w/Megyn Kelly with the “bleeding” comment. He could have wailed on her just fine without going quite all the way there. He didn’t need to do the “face” thing with Carly.
With this, he’s already bludgeoning Cruz. Maybe he’s posturing for the eventual HRC/Trump debate(s) as an intimidation tactic.
I just think he’s going just a few inches too far. I suppose everyone has their trigger point in this regard.
