Patti Davis, daughter of late President Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan, penned an open letter Thursday to Will Ferrell, criticizing the actor for agreeing to play the 40th president in an upcoming satirical film about his battle with dementia.
I saw the news bulletin as did everyone that you intend to portray my father in the throes of Alzheimers for a comedy that you are also producing, Ms. Davis, a former actress, wrote in her blog. Perhaps you have managed to retain some ignorance about Alzheimers and other versions of dementia. Perhaps if you knew more, you would not find the subject humorous.
Alzheimers doesnt care if you are President of the United States or a dockworker. It steals what is most precious to a human being memories, connections, the familiar landmarks of a lifetime that we all come to rely on to hold our place secure in this world and keep us linked to those we have come to know and love, she continued. I watched as fear invaded my fathers eyes this man who was never afraid of anything. I heard his voice tremble as he stood in the living room and said, I dont know where I am. I watched helplessly as he reached for memories, for words, that were suddenly out of reach and moving farther away. For ten long years he drifted past the memories that marked his life, past all that was familiar
and mercifully, finally past the fear. There was laughter in those years, but there was never humor.

My mother died from Dementia. If he does this and makes fun of a disease that robs families of final memories with their loved ones he will lose me for a lifetime. Some things are just not that funny Will.
I hear you, am not a fan of his either.
Thank you
Apology accepted.
I think I did not make myself completely clear. My point was that Will Ferrell is not the only guilty party here, and everyone involved deserves some blame.
I don’t think leftists can get Alzheimer’s, their mental functioning levels are already very low in middle age.
Thanks, you’re correct because they all deserve blame.
Some UTIs require antibiotics to clear them up, but you may try giving him a daily dose of d-mannose which is what makes cranberry work so well for treating UTI. I really like the Now brand cranberry with uva ursi. Maybe it would keep them from recurring.
So true, Mr. Reagan had ungrateful children from the second marriage. Maybe they have finally learned the lesson too late.
What’s next for Will the Shill - a parody of Glen Campbell?
If you go on the internet you’ll see many cases of UTI’s, dementia and mental illness. People, especially women, have been put into mental hospitals when they had UTI’s. It’s a problem with the elderly and those having surgery, especially if they need to have a catheter.
I never liked any of Ferrell's works and I have been proven right.
What's next? Will he be mocking Glen Campbell?
I lost an uncle to it. Towards the end, he didn’t even recognize his own children, let alone grandchildren.
Here is his web site:

He has fans?
I used this email instead: ferrellfan1@yahoo.com
Have no idea which one is better.
This is an insult to anyone who has experienced ANYone with the disease.
Sadly, Ferel does not realize that he is ridiculing a future that could be his own, or mine, or yours. Some of us will end up just like President Reagan. Pray that we have loved ones who will protect us and cherish us.
Ferrell along with Gary Sanchez Productions will produce the movie. No director has been named.

Indeed. Her dad was a talented wordsmith also.
Sometimes women don’t know either and can get quite confused. I had a neighbor that was on a long trip by herself and ended up in the hospital because she was found confused and wandering. She went in a store and woke up in the hospital. She was diagnosed with a UTI, and she didn’t remember any of what had happened. I thought it was very odd but it isn’t that uncommon.
