PITTSBURGH — Gov. John Kasich often speaks about mental health in his campaign for president. He has defended his decision to expand Medicaid in Ohio by highlighting its benefits for mentally ill residents. He is probably the only Republican candidate this year to ask a crowd, “Do you know what it’s like for somebody to live with depression?” The question, posed at a rally in upstate New York recently, threw a hush over a room of 1,000 people. Mr. Kasich went on: “There are people here who know exactly what I’m talking about.” Mr. Kasich is one who knows. His only brother, Richard, 59, has struggled with depression disorders since college. He was occasionally hospitalized and today receives disability benefits for mental illness.

FYI, they have Legos specifically for girls now: Lego Friends.

Emphasis on ponies and small furry animals, and rendered in eye-pleasing pastels.

I’m glad they didn’t have those when I was a kid, I might’ve ended up a homo!

LOL, I doubt that.

I was referencing the eye-pleasing pastels.

To this day I’m told I have an eye for window treatments, which is a homo thing!

You crack me up. Actually what that means is that you are more inclined to brain activities and visualization of a finished project, which of course has nothing to do with sexual inclinations. I myself have a much better eye than my wife for decorating. Even she admits to that. Definitely no homosexual desires on my part, LOL.

I just get a tickle about how the girl Legos nowadays are so “pretty”. It’s actually hard to synthesize them into my preexisting collection because of all the new shapes and colors that did not exist when I was a kid.

When I was a kid it was solely primary colors. Now there’s lavender, seafoam, 3 different shades of blue et al.

The figures are different too. I had Lego space men. Now they have leggy, sexy Lego chicks with big eyes, big hair, and boobs.

When I was a kid Legos were nothing more than interlocking blocks of various sizes. There was no set design to build towards. I honestly have not looked at them for 50+ years now. My how they have changed. The pony one you were talking about is now retired, called “My First Garden” (I should say it was what was returned on the Legos website when searching for pony). Now only available on Ebay. Some of these sets are way up there, cost wise. With so many choices it makes it hard to pick one. I guess I will kind of quiz the grandson to see what he would like.
