With his five blowout wins Tuesday night, Donald Trump has passed Mitt Romneys popular vote total from four years ago and is on a trajectory that could land him more Republican votes than any presidential candidate in modern history by a lot.
Trump surged to 9.9 million votes, according to totals that include Tuesdays preliminary results across the northeast and could rise further as the final votes are counted. Thats already more than 100,000 more than Romney earned in the entire 2012 primary season and tens of thousands more than John McCain earned in 2008.

But, Trump cant beat Hillary.....only Canadian Cruz can......
Trump is going to absolutely crush Hillary come election time. Complete and utter blowout.
Poor, poor Mittens. How this must gall him.

The Cheap Labor Express will not give up.
Their stooges, Kasich and Cruz, will continue their quest to block the citizens from stopping the Cheap Labor Express
“...To ask a voter to vote for you because you are losing and you may lose some more at the convention is not going to work...”
Absolutely correct. The people of Indiana are smart Americans and this will be the reasoning of the majority and that majority will vote Trump. Let’s hope Rush realizes this today and isn’t trying to act as though Cruz is still viable and can somehow win in Indiana.
Cruz will lose big in Indiana. It’s over.
Yet all we hear from Cruz supporters is that he only has a plurality not a majority, so that means more are against him. Of course the fact that even more are against Cruz means zilch to them. Quite laughable in many ways.
“Trump passes Romneys popular vote total, likely to break GOP record”........
So we are told by the GOPe that THEY pick the candidate, the people don’t. Who’s right, we or they?
That remains to be seen. I will say this, if they do it will be their doom.

What I’ve been saying all along. The number of voters who support what has come to be known as “Conservative Republicanism” over the past two decades is shrinking, and is now too small to win national elections.
Our choice is between Trump’s right-leaning Populism and Socialism. Sorry, Bill Kristol & Co., it just is.
[That’s what Mark Levin has been raving about nightly on his radio show. I wonder what he’ll say tonight?]
I can’t WAIT to listen to Levin’s show the day after trump is crowned the nominee. I expect that there will be so much “whine” that I will end up getting pulled over for DWI...
Exactly Robert! People don’t ask the Cruzlims the corect questions in response to the plurality claim. Doesn’t that argument indicate that 80% of the people are against Cruz??
In addition, I have asked Lying Ted’s Supporters the following questions on at least a dozen different occasions now and not a single one has replied yet. His whole political reality is based upon cooked polls about a hypothetical matchup.
Would love to hear Rush or Levin try to answer:
Do you think that Cruz can reach HALF the delegates needed to get to the nomination?
Or more appropriately, half of the delegates that Trump gets?
If he gets so lucky.. Where will he get an increase of at least 100% of delegates in Cleveland?
Cruz is mathematically done.
That means only the uninformed, the true believers and the anti trumps will vote for Cruz.
Trump is coming off of YUUUGE victories in NY, RI, DE,CT, PA, MD. These victories were by large margins.
He has BIG momentum now. That'll energize his base. Fence riders will now go to Trump.
The reason Indiana is seen as in play for Cruz, is because of lack of polls.
The anti Trumps figure that since there are few polls, that automatically means Cruz is leading.
The last 2 primaries have given Indiana's people something to think about.
Strong horse theory. Do you really want to waste your vote on a loser to placate some whiny elites and talk show hosts?
It may very well be that Trump will have long coat tails.
People want to associate with a winner.
I won’t prognosticate because I’m frequently wrong, but I tend to agree. The significant decline in the number of Democrats participating in the primary process tells me that rank-and-file Democrats ain’t all that excited about Comrade Bernie or Hitlery. The concurrent increase in the number of Republicans who are participating in the primaries, coupled with the number of Democrats changing parties to vote for Trump (even in Massachusetts?) tells me that there is excitement about Trump’s campaign.
“...High Hewitt ... pretzels...”
Shoot - I was hoping the dirty GOPe establishment influence was done for these turncoat radio hosts.
Wishful thinking.
Even they won’t be able to turn the around the Titanic Cruz heading for the iceberg anyway but it would have been nice for all of our blood pressures not to have to deal with it today.
I quit listening, but force a snippet of a listen each day for a delusion-rating-for-the-day determination check. Over the past week and longer, on the scale of 1 - 10 it’s been a consistent completely delusional rating of 10 for all of them except Hannity, Ingraham and Savage.
Apparently there are others that I don’t know about in some regional markets that are still sane.
