But in recent years, conservatives have found playing the victimhood card to be equally profitable for their own causes.

Donald Trump is a successful businessman. His residences and modes of transit are plated with gold. He has married three gorgeous women. He claims to have a multibillion-dollar net worth. He has mocked the disabled, women, Asians, Hispanics, Muslims, even prisoners of war....
Yet he constantly rationalizes his bad behavior and political setbacks as the inevitable consequence of unfair systems and anti-Trump persecution.
Disapprove of his pro-violence rally rhetoric? Hes just protecting his beleaguered voters against those big, strong, powerful Black Lives Matter activists, Bernie bros and other bad dudes.
Find his xenophobic remarks about our allies, trading partners and immigrants repulsive? Hes merely defending his supporters from foreigners who prey on them economically, culturally and even sexually. (Those Mexican border-crossers are mostly rapists, after all.)
To hear Trump tell it, he and his supporters are the most beaten-down victims this country has ever seen. The system is rigged to keep them from winning, designed to make the weak even weaker. They have been robbed, disenfranchised, bullied and insulted. With the odds so stacked against them, they and their leader are not only permitted but also morally obligated to punch back as ferociously as they can.

Apparently you only have a right to punch back at someone taking your rights and property if you are downtrodden.
Trumps is being hounded by the vast right wing conspiracy ?
oh wait, that’s the other side.
I guess you’re forgiven, since this is the day Cruz is absolutely eliminated from the race and all...
Those who opposed Trump are the real scared ones.
‘Your privilege is showing’ — It is amazing how pervasive that has become in social media.
Shutting down debate is the goal of all liberals; nothing they are doing can stand up to the slightest question, so they want to shut down any and all debate.
“I apologize for posting this, ... “
We know FR is more tolerant than the left, but why post this tripe and then apologize?
Why not post some junk from The Nation, NR or the Weekly Standard while you’re at it?
EXCLUSIVE: Colorado County GOP Chair: Errors with Ted Cruzs Delegate Win, Might Need Do-Over
"The chairwoman of the Boulder County GOP has admitted that grave errors affected the Colorado Republican caucus, in which Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% won a clean sweep of 34 delegates without opening up the process to voting by everyday citizens.
Breitbart News has obtained an email that Boulder County GOP chairwoman Peg Cage sent to other top Republican officials in Colorado, including to other party chairs, describing the errors in the process that led to the perception of fraud. Reached for comment on the email, Cage said that the caucus might have to be done over."
Thanks. That picture is the most appropriate response to this.
In this primary on the GOP side, as it winds down, Cruz has a strategy to use the rules and the system to set himself up for a 2nd or 3rd vote victory if he can force it. He knows this thing inside and out and is doing a masterful job of it.
Trump, on the other hand has his own strategy. 1st, to win 1,237 outright which after tonight he will be well on track to do. Which of course negates Ted’s strategy from the get go. But also to use his bully pulpit (and we can call it that because anytime he needs to, he can get time in front of the press), to make what Ted is doing look like gaming...despite the face that it is all within the rules. Trump uses his strength to sour the public mind against the system as a whole as Ted is using it.
Both men are using their strengths and their relative positions within the campaign (Trump leading with a solid line to the nomination, Ted with no chance for the nomination except at the convention floor) to try and push their own campaigns.
Problem is, in this election year, Trump is going to be so close (if he does not go over) when they get to the convention, that any attempt by Cruz and others to take it from him will end up splitting the party and handing the election to the Dems.
We all better see that, and we all better do everything we can to prevent it.
Thanks for today’s leftist BS Report:-)
Oh, well, mistakes were made, but the protests are coming from priveleged cry-bullies so we got the right outcome /s
How long have we conservatives begged for a candidate who could use the left’s tactics against them?
And now the left is mad because Trump is doing exactly that.
President Hillary is totally unacceptable!
Posted April 23, 2016 at 1:02:08 PM PDT by Jim RobinsonIf you are a NeverTrump type person, you are working against our purposes on FR, so please opus out now and log off and let us carry on with our mission in peace.
Continue insulting us with 24/7 anti-Trump diatribes and insults, your opus will be assumed.
We will unite behind our nominee and we will win this coming election (with or without you) and we will get a handle on this divided forum very soon.
Hope you understand my position.
By the way, Cruz's campaign still refuses to answer the question whether or not Cruz will support Trump if he's the nominee. He's taking the GOPe route of preferring Hillary over Trump. This is also totally unacceptable.
Just another Wile E. Coyote pile of crap. When will these morons just go away?
It's going to look like Wile E. Coyote going splat on the canyon floor after dynamiting himself off the mesa and then getting hit by the anvil he tied himself to.
LOL!
He's mocked specific individuals, and never groups of people. But this idiot knows that, and continues to lie anyway... because that's what the left does.
Its OK. Amazing how much these freaks will fight to keep their “FAIR” share of the pie.
And we thought the Soviet Union government was bad? This is as bad, since what the communist do in the open, these bastards do in secrete.
